Gitane DG-300 Professional Gypsy Jazz Guitar - Modèle John Jorgenson

This is a superb and wonderfully authentic instrument. It has the walnut 2-piece neck, just like the originals. The shape and feel of the neck is also true to the examples we have of Django's instruments. The top is of a very high quality and the inside of the guitar is beautifully sanded, thicknessed and really clean. These more recent Gitane instruments are a notch up from ones I have come across in shops in the past. There was only one thing wrong with this, and that is that the truss rod needed a very slight adjustment as it was a little too slack. The sound and projection of this instrument are really superb. The instrument is of extremely high quality. I am not so sure about the strings being D'Addario, however. They do not have quite the same feel as the ones that I have had in the past (D'Addario Gypsy jazz.) Anyway, this is nothing to worry about overmuch, as the they will be coming off soon. Wonderful guitar. I think, however, if you buy direct like this, you do need to be able to have basic setup skills for this kind of instrument. If you are not sure, I would advise taking it to a luthier or a experienced guitar technician.

Great Guitar arrived safely and on time. Played straight out of the box. The DG300 has the D shape neck.
