This is a Dorling Kindersley Eyewitness Companion, if you like the format of that series then this is the book for you. I like the colourful illustrations and the easy-to-read columns which make any topic more digestible.It seems a little odd to find Hindu deities cheek by jowl with the gods of Olympus and other Classical mythology celebrities but the book works very well, giving a whistle stop tour of all the myths and legends of the worldThe subtitle is: World myths, gods, heroes, creatures and mythical places revealed. What more is there to say? It is a great primer for anyone who didn't study Classics at school.

Couldn't recommend a better introduction to mythology.Covers many cultures and beginnings from around the world. Each is given a small introductory write up that encourages the reader to go and explore them in their own time.I would recommend this for all ages, however I think it would be particularly enjoyable for the 8-15 year old age range. Once again, it's a great introduction to this fascinating area and bound to encourage a healthy interest in history and other cultures.

I love this book very much, the pictures are lovely, it has been categorised in such a way that makes it easy on the eye and interesting visually

Very good informative.

It is clear, concise and brilliantly illustrated throughout. Covering myths, legends, heroes and Gods this is an excellent overview of a very old and broad subject.It covers many different civilisations providing a selection of their most interesting and well known myths. The brief descriptions are very readable and made me want to study some civilisations in more depth.Overall an excellent basic introduction.

An excellent introduction to the mythologies of the world. The book is beautifully presented is in a handy size and comes with a hard cover. It is very readable or it can be used as an introductory textbook. I was particularly impressed with the coloured illustrations and the helpful cross references.
