I have a couple of sunflower heart bird feeds hanging from a tree and the mess the birds were making below was awful. The grass had pretty much been destroyed and with all the rain it was getting smelly and mouldy. I looked at a few different options and this was the cheapest and easiest compared to putting flags under the feeders which is the position would have looked odd. I have to say its done the trick perfectly and now all the seed is being caught. Its really easy to keep clean as you just screw the dish off from underneath to empty into the bin and give a quick clean. Its a large plastic screw so very easy to take on and off. I have purchased a second one for my other feeder now i know it works.The pigeon is also very impressed with it as he can now sit on the feeder rather than picking up the scraps the gold finches and blue tit drop! I don't mid though as they are entertaining to watch!

For a few years, on and off I have been using one of those cheapy green plastic niger feeders. The first one I had mysteriously broke and was held together with duck tape for a few weeks until that came off. The second one survived, but these types of feeders are such a pain in the neck to clean!!! I am disabled with ME, so every little task for me uses up a huge amount of my quota of energy. I found that I would bring it indoors with the intention of cleaning it, and it would still be there weeks later!After much deliberation, this year I finally decided to scrap the cheapy niger feeder and buy a very expensive Jacobi Jayne one.....it has been a god send!  Ring Pull Feeder for Niger Seed 360mm It is so easy to fill, and yet so easy to take apart and clean. The only downside is that you had to buy an equally expensive seed tray seperately, which I did. This is also so simple to clean! It couldn't be easier! Combined, this is the most expensive feeder I have ever bought, but it is also the nicest one (very good quality), the birds love it, and it is almost a pleasure to clean! For the base, you litereally turn a plastic butterfly screw, and the whole base comes off! Even this screw has a hook on the bottom of it, so you can hang something else off of it! They have thought of everything! NB. Please don't hang a fat ball net off the bottom. These are lethal to birds! They catch their feet in them, break their feet or legs, and suffer a horrible death.

Goldfinches love sunflower hearts but they were making such a huge mess under the feeder. I had a smaller seed tray which helped but didn't solve the problem. This tray fixed it. It's really big and catches all the seeds. I notice goldfinches also sit on the tray and eat the fallen seeds which is fantastic! It's also easy to clean. Possible downside is that the tray is so large that starlings and doves also can sit on the tray to eat the seeds. I don't mind, I'm happy the seeds are being eaten and not on the ground. Recommended.

This does a great job , leaving all the waste on the tray and not the ground, not cheap but nothing is these days

I bought a Big Easy Bird Feeder manufactured by Jacobi Jayne which I hoped would fit the seed tray that was advertised to go with it. Unfortunately I see no way of fitting the tray to feeder as the attached nylon threaded hook it is supplied with does not fit the base of the Big Easy Feeder as it has no internal thread to attach it to.This is a great shame as the feeder is just what I am after and I bought the tray to contain as a previous customer has said the sparrow rejected seed. Hoping the manufacturers may make contact in case I have missed something obvious.
