4K @ 24fps, 20M stills - Best Action Cam Feature for Feature In This Price Range
First things first. I already own a 4K action camera with the same NOVATEK NTK96660 chip and the same lens system. So, I already knew what I was buying. The SOOCOO 4K has stellar, and I mean stellar vibration reduction in camera. It's spooky how good it is. To me, that is probably the second biggest purchase point besides the 96660 chipset. In fact, it seems better than my previous cam. I'll have to do a side-by-side one day to see. The reason I wanted to purchase this one is that my daughter and I wanted to have a cam with a live LCD screen -- it makes a ton of difference sometimes. So, now to the review. A simple pro/con list should suffice as most of you are likely to know the existing features. I just want to highlight the standouts here.Pros:* NTK96660 chip which allows for excellent overall performance* Sony IMX 078 image sensor for superb colors and top of the line resolution modes for an action cam at this price point* 4K @ 24fps - yeah, good luck finding this speed and res on ANY action cam at ANY price - do yourself a favor and purchase a Class 10, UHS-1 or better high speed MicroSDHC. You will need the write speed for proper 1080p or higher recording.* 20M image stills - that's better than nearly any action cam on the market right now* 2 inch live image LCD screen (not touch screen, but very good resolution)* Crazy excellent gyro stabilization mode* Diving Mode - uses some sort of red light enhancement - I don't dive and haven't tested this but I've heard from others that this is a good thing* Audible alerts (can be useful for some - I turn them off in the menu)* Very easy to understand in-camera menu* Nice lens - not sure of manufacturer, but very nice quality* Wifi - You can connect using a ton of different free recording apps. I believe you can search Soocoo in the app stores as a start. I couldn't test mine as I think I have competing wifi signals from nearby devices that prevent me from getting a good connection. It happens on both of my devices.Cons:* Camera comes with 2 budget Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) batteries that hold a dismal charge - they deplete rapidly and take a while to recharge in-camera since there is no external charger supplied* There are no aftermarket lithium-polymer (Li-Po) batteries that I can find which is the very first upgrade I recommend for these devices. Li-Pobatteries provide a substantial increase in filming time. I was disappointed to see that these did not have the Hero 3 battery size like my previous device did. This device takes the SJ cam battery size (SJ4000/SJ5000/SJ6000). If you know of a better battery of this size, please let me know in the comments.* Waterproof case is very hard to open. It's a struggle every time to remember how. However, it does prevent accidental opening of the case while under water, so this can be both a con AND a pro depending on your point of view.* Adapters and mounts, though convenient and very configurable, don't often tighten down very well. Look for better quality clamps elsewhere or use duct tape. You rarely ever go wrong with duct tape. Or bacon.* Battery door bulges out a bit when closed. This is due to the foam used to help keep the battery tightly locked in place. I worry the battery cover may break after repetitive usage. Good luck finding a replacement so be cautious.Bottom line: This camera has it where it counts. In my opinion, the pros far outweigh the cons (though the battery issue irks the crap out of me). With an action cam, you want great video, great color, and great image stabilization. The Soocoo 4K delivers on all three counts.Disclaimer: I have received this product with a discount in return for an honest review. So this camera is great for the price
So this camera is great for the price, but before I give any criticisms/priase allow me to give you background info on me. This was my first action camera and I am not by any means a camera mastermind. So think of this review as the common man's take on the camera. To start, let me just say that it takes TIME to understand how to use this camera because there are little instructions provided. For the most part; however, as long as you play around with it for a while everything becomes clear. Anyway, now I will go into some pros and cons:CONs:- Night Scenes: The night scenes were okay, but honestly it is near impossible to capture much at night unless it is no more than five feet away from you. Even in night-time mode, the quality of video/picture was dismal at best. When recording or taking pictures make sure you have decent lighting for this camera.- Time Lapse: The time lapse on this camera is decent; however, I was upset that you can't shoot in 4k(UHDp24) while in time lapse mode. Instead, I had to go one resolution down (QHDp30). This isn't too bad really, just something they don't tell you before you buy the camera.- Battery Life: If you are looking for something that will last you all day this is NOT the camera for you. Each battery, under CONSTANT use for me, only lasted about 35-49min. The charge time took about an hour to charge TWO batteries. Now it must be said, that for the periodic user this could last maybe half a day. I ended up buying two additional batteries from a third party and with a total of FOUR batteries have been able to use the camera for a full day under periodic use.- Accessories: Last but not least, are accessories. The accessories that came with the camera were extremely basic and only provided a select amount of options for using the camera. I had to buy an accessory kit in addition to this in order to really get the most use out of the camera.-------------------PROs:- Gyroscope/Scuba diving mode: The gyroscope/stabilization/anti-shanking is amazing for this camera and price point. I went mountain biking, sky-diving, and low-depth scuba diving with this and it handled it like a charm. Seriously, I moved around and shook this camera all over the place and it performed wonderfully, barely any lag at all. Also, the Scuba diving mode made the video and pictures surprisingly clearer than I expected.- Megapixel/Sensor: Both of these specs are pretty high quality for a sub-100$ camera, easily comparable to a GoPro.- Price: This is insanely cheap and affordable if you are an easy going person who just wants to record vacations or other important action events.- Attachments and Replacements: Going back to the accessories, it is cheap to buy cool gadgets for this camera because it is generic. Also if you break anything (obviously not the camera itself) it is cheap to replace, such as the housing cracking or your favorite camera mount busting.Final Remarks:All in all, I would say this camera is worth purchasing if you are a beginner/common man looking for a decent ACTION camera. Also, I would say to make this really worth your while, you NEED to get a few extra batteries and an accessories kit because by itself there is not much it can do.***I did NOT get paid, reimbursed, nor accept any benefit to write this review. I am just a honest guy trying to give my two cents so people understand what they are purchasing. Hope you enjoyed!

Excellent camera with stand-out features
I spent some time researching budget and expensive action cameras and the SOOCOO C30 seemed to tick all the tight boxes at a very reasonable price. I was tempted by the market leader (we all know the name), but I thought I would try the SOOCOO first. Well I can say that I will not be changing it!I used it on a beach holiday 2 weeks ago and everything worked perfectly. On the beach. in the ocean, it took some great video. The quality is amazing at this price level. I used Full HD at 60fps and viewing on my TV is really good.It has a wide range of features and adjustments if you want them, or just auto mode. But one of the stand-out features for me is the gyro stabilisation chip. You don't normally get this in budget camera's and the SOOCOO unit works really well.On top of the many accessories that it comes with are 2 batteries and a Kingston 32GB micro SD card included.Only area not so good for me was the wifi connection to my tablet. But I tend to take out the micro SD card anyway, so no problem for me.If you are undecided like I was to begin with, don't hesitate, go for this. You will not be disappointed.

This is a honest review of the Soocoo C30 with no connection to soocoo
I received my Soocoo C30 action cam yesterday 9/9/17 and can say i am super impressed with this little action cam. I own many including go pro ect and this one for the price is an absolute bargain. Two batteries and even a 32GB Kingston micro SD card was included in the package, not even go pro offer these with their over priced cameras..The packaging was to a high standard and very neatly packed, they even included a full written very easy to read and understand instruction manual, you dont see this with the leaders in the market either..I waited untill night time to record some videos whilst walking my dog with it set to night scene. I was very impressed with the footage that was recorded, despite it being poorly lit in our area the footage was the best in this instance that i have ever recorded to date in poor lighting , this is where it puts the rest to shame, by this i mean the go pro and my other more expensive action cameras..I record videos for my you tube channel where i record footage of my amateur radio activities and this is just perfect. There is no fish eye effect if you set it to the 70 degree setting in the angle of view menu, you even have a zoom function, again no others in this price bracket or even the most expensive action cams offer this..I am seriously now considering buying the soocoo S100 pro as this has many of the same features like the the SC30 has. I wanted to see how the soocoo lower spec cameras worked first before i went for a more expensive up to date option.. Again i am very very satisfied with my purchase, this is one of the best if not the best lower priced full featured action cameras..I purchased the Soocoo S30 at full price and i did not get it cheap or free in return for a biased review..This is a true fact featured review on a item i paid for. I will do the same if & when i upgrade to the S100 pro.

Great little camera for the price
This is a great little camera, we took it to The Lake District with us and got some great pictures. There are loads of settings on it, I like the adjustable viewing angle which is handy to avoid the fisheye effect if you don't need a wide view on your photos. The video looks great too really good quality when we played it back on the laptop, not too shaky when you're walking along with it. Lots of accessories with it. The sound was slightly muffled when filming in the waterproof case as you would expect, but overall well worth the money

We are extremely happy with our purchase of this action camera.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. We are extremely happy with our purchase of this action camera.Taking with me everywhere I go. Every holidays, every work day.Very happy with video quality, can do timelapses, can take stills photos at 20mpx.Very easy to connect via wifi to smartphone.Very good batteries, very large amount of mounts gives lots of variety of shots. Incl waterproof case.Menu (with choice of languages) is very easy to navigate. Cant see any downfalls at all.Currently took it for a run and you can see a short video. Footage was not color corected, straight out of a camera.Really recommended to everyone. And the price, is really good.

OK but...
I bought this as a stopgap when I could not get the Dazzne P2 I usually use. The picture quality is very good and battery life is OK, but build quality is not as good as the Dazzne: the front face of the SOOCOO camera sticks to the inside of the waterproof case supplied, so it detaches from the camera body when it is removed from the case. The mounting accessories supplied are (sort of) compatible with Dazzne (and G* Pr*) cameras, but the finish and tolerances are not as good so they will wobble a bit if interchanged with the others, or may need bits filing off to make a good fit. A shame really because otherwise it's a very good camera.
