This grappling hook is definitely a pretty neato apparatus. I will admit that I mostly got it just so I could say I have one and to play with it. However I have found legitimate uses for it too. Actually I have two of them now with this one definitely being the better of the two. It's slightly smaller, but much more robust and better made than the other one. I mainly have used them to hook and pull down large dead limbs, either by hand or with my garden tractor. It has held up just fine for that so far. The construction of it is quite good overall. Most of the parts are nicely laser cut or machined and it has been pretty well polished. I like how compact and robust this one is. Especially at the knurled connecting point for the rope. This one is also held together with solid steel pins compared to the hollow rivets of my other one. Also the flat end cap of this one is screwed on instead of riveted on. Though I'm not recommending it, I would actually trust this one to hold my weight if I ever had to. Well at least 3 of the 4 hooks because unfortunately mine does have a slight flaw that is concerning, and why I deducted a star. It has a very noticeable crack on one of the tabs that the pin goes through to hold one of the hooks on. I've included a picture. I will be able to weld and repair it, I just haven't needed to do so yet. Other than that I am very happy overall with the hook itself. The rope this one comes with is also much better than the other one I have. It is not a rated or certified rope, but It is still a very well made and strong rope. It could absolutely hold you if you needed it to, though I'm not recommending it. The rope has nice eyelets and is properly stitched on each end and shrink wrapped. The stitching actually goes through the guts of the rope like it is supposed to, and not just the sheath like you will see sometimes on cheap ropes. Overall it's a well put together grappling hook set. It is definitely pretty cool, and fun to use and play with. If you are thinking about getting one yourself or just want to give someone a unique gift then I would say go for it. It is a useful tool to have and I do feel it is worth it.

Don’t have a clue why I bought this. I don’t save Gotham City, I don’t storm castles but I may need one and not have one. Now I have one. Great quality on the hook and the rope. Works very well deploying. Stores great. A+ all the way.
