Cost effective compared to alternatives
My doctor prescribed a FOBT or FIT test and gave me a name of a well known on they supposedly recommend all the time. The problem? 500$. And they effectively do the same, they make you take a few stool samples and then run it through a reactive substance. I haven’t found anything as price effective and convenient as this.I do recommend you buy more than one: at least two or 3 so that you can do the test over a few days. This makes it similar to what the labs do as they want you to take samples from 2 or 3 stools. So if you get 2 and two out of 2 give you the same result over different stool samples then you have a high degree of certainty / low error margin. It’s worth the peace of mind. Here is the gross part: you’ll be pooping on a piece of waterproofed paper that you stick across the toilet lid so you can catch the sample.Your stool should not be in touch with the toilet water of urine hence the catch paper that they include.Once caught you have a tube with a sample pin that you stick in 5 different places in the stool sample and then reinsert in the tube which is liquid/water filled. You shake. You then open the other side of the tilibe which is a dropper and drip and drop onto a reactive tab that they include as well. Wait one minute. There is your positive or negative result. Very easy. Very nasty but hey if it can safe your life then why not.I can’t say anything negative about this test as it led me to believe that a colonoscopy is overkill for me despite the doctor saying people my age should have one. Not with a 2700$ copay I if there are no red flags I think. To each their own, but for now this gave me piece of mind. And for a great price.

Easy to Use
Purchased the product yesterday. Tested with it today. Easy to use. Easy instructions to read and follow. Was not to keen on trying to catch fecal on the strip so I decided to use a disposable cup to catch the matter. This was alot easier to do. A bit disgusting 🫣 But worked just as we'll. Unfortunately my was 2 positive pink lines almost instantly. Have my consult tomorrow for my colonoscopy. 🙏🙏🙏

Reasonably Inexpensive
I like that this provides a convenient way to test, even as a preliminary action. The instructions were clear, and the process quite simple. It took a couple of minutes to get my result, but my second line was so, very barely visible — I’m not sure how to interpret that. I wish the instructions were a little clearer, which is why I gave it 4/5 stars instead of 5/5.I might have to repeat to be sure.

FDA approved
Buy the test. It was easy to use and my results was accurate. I will do them once a year.

Not worth the cost and effort!
I read and re-read the instructions, and I did everything as instructed and the test was non-functional. You have to repurchase parts of the test for it to be re-used. I certainly wouldn’t buy it again or recommend it. Very disappointed considering the cost.

Faint positive might not be accurate
I used colotest on two separate days and got a faint positive on both days. My doctor ordered me a fit test through Labcorp and I tested negative. Not sure which one is more accurate but if you want exact results just get a colonoscopy.

Product as described
I made a mistake. While opening the sample collection bottle, I spilled the contents on floor. So couldn't perform the test. I am on Brillinta, hence this test is important. Will have to buy another. ouch.
