Great replacement wheels for my Samsonite spinner luggage

This wheel kit was exactly the size I needed to repair my 21" roller bag! It was so easy to swap them out once I got to old (riveted) wheel off!!! To counter any issues with over tightening I used the washer from the old wheel so there are washers on both sides, thus leaving some wiggle room for the wheels to spin while tightly screwed in. I noticed there was a little dab of locktite already on the screw, so hopefully that works...if not I'll add more locktite or plumber's tape for good measure. The bag rolls smoothly and is good as new!!! I am soooo happy I found this kit on Amazon!!!

Wheels installation required some work. Drilled the old ones out and trimmed the axels.Flew international with 2 lay overs:One new wheel ripped off.Half of wheel covers gone.Flew back with 2 lay overs:The rest of wheels are still there.Another set of wheel covers gone.If you install the wheel covers, dont expect them to be there long. Wheel quality is questionable.After return home, I replaced half of the wheels with 50mm (from the same company) they seem to be better quality. 55mm not so much.

These worked well to replace/repair my Samsonite 20” roller hard shell carryon. I cut my old axle before ordering and noticed it was 8mm DIA versus the 6mm axles provided. If not, they are 6mm ID x 8mm OD X 10mm Wide bushings. So I put two bushings in each 20mm wheel. No directions on install, but the images on Amazon were enough. If they fail, I will update how long they lasted. Weakness might be that they are hollow 6mm axles vs the OEM 8mm solid steel. They are also screwed together so may come loose over time but do have a nylon thread locker patch on the screw. The 2 provided wrenches were nice too. Happy so far.

No question, these wheels work exactly as advertised, but they require you to cut through the old metal axel to first remove the broken wheels. This isn't easy.If you can find a whole wheel-wheelbase corner unit that fits your suitcase exactly, buy that, but be careful about the location of the screw holes -- they have to be perfect, or you can't swap new good for old broken.If you have an older rolling suitcase, this product is for you. Hacksawing through the axel is not easy as it rolls under the saw stroke, and you can't get at it without cutting the axel base you want to keep. Use some heavy bolt cutters to essentially gnaw off one of the old wheels and clamp the axel for sawing or use a grinder to cut off where the old axel was hammered over to lock.After that, all will be good! I also added some slip-on tire covers, sold separately.

These are really easy to use, once you get the old wheels off. Even that wasn't too hard, you just need some type of saw. I used a small hand-held power saw. Once that was done, it took about 30 seconds to get these new wheels on my suitcase. It was definitely easier that the process of ordering new wheels from the luggage company. Just do the measuring before you order.

It was a bit challenging to get these to work on my suitcase but it looks like the end result is better than the original.I plan to update after our long trip. Hopefully they hold together and work out well.
