Ruger 10/22 Picatinny Rail Mount for Red Dot, Scopes, Optics (RG-Black)

Very nice rail - mounting holes are perfectly aligned.. as mentioned in previous reviews, the screw that is 2nd from the rear of the barrel is 0.5mm too long. Either find a small washer or use a stone or emery cloth to reduce the end of the screw, otherwise it will lock the action.

The rail itself is fine but the screws are too long and protrude into the barrel locking up the bolt. The original screws worked fine in the new rail.

The Ruger 10/22 is the best beginner rifle hands down, I just recently purchased number four, having purchased my very first one in the mid 70's. In order to keep these rifles affordable Ruger has always kept to the very basic amenities, no bells, no whistles. They have over the years offered a few different options, none of which come with a factory scope or mount. The receiver has been pre-drilled to accept an aftermarket mount though. Originally all that was offered was the "Weaver" mount which is typically for hunting rifles. In the past few years, I have started to see "Picatinny" mounts showing up, which now open up a whole new world of options.So here we are with this rail style scope mount. Although it is the same length as a Weaver mount, I would like to see it about an inch longer to allow for more of the modern scopes on the market. You don't need a scope that can go out to 500 yds, this rifle wasn't designed for that. But with a good 10 or 15 power scope you could set nails at 100 yds all day long. If you own a 10/22 but have never taken the receiver apart to clean the inside of it, PLEASE DO NOT just attach this mount. I found that the screws that hold the mount in place are just a bit too long and need to be trimmed, or you WILL damage the "bolt" or "that slidey thing that goes back and forth". I was able to shorten the screws and attach the mount in about 30 minutes, it may take a little if you have not worked on one of these rifles before. There are many videos online that show you how to disassemble/reassemble the receiver, then all that needs to be done is file the screws down. I attached the mount to see how much I need to remove from the screws, it took me three tries before I felt comfortable with the fit (add a drop of BLUE LockTite to each screw so they won't come loose). While the receiver is apart now would be a good time to clean and oil everything up. This is a great mount; it holds a scope tight, and the price is right

Assuming your receiver has the mounting holes pre drilled, this base is super easy to install. I would recommend blue loc-tite if you plan on replacing it in the future. If you don’t, red loc-tite is the ticket.Overall fit to receiver is great. Sits flush, looks great, mounts secure. Lots of pic rail space for scope rings or cantilever mounts. Function is great, .22 is a low/no recoil cartridge so it won’t work its self loose under recoil loads, means you can stay on target at the range all day with no problems.If you’re looking for a good budget option to mount scopes to your 10/22 this is the item. You can’t beat it.
