Northcore Surf Accessories Powerstroke Bungee Cord

It’s great...However....
It’s a great idea and gives good resistance feels good in the hand, hasn’t broken or shown any sign of stress points in the rubber. The only thing that bugs me is that the little pad on the rubbers does not stay in place and slips round leaving the rubber bands exposed to rubbing against the post I’m using as the base. Although, the base/post is only 10mm thick and as in all the videos I’ve watched about this product, it does show it being used around a thicker post??? It’s no real biggy it’s just annoying when swapping between exercises as I don’t want it wearing the rubber bands. I’ve wrapped a ‘cord tidy’ around it which almost holds it in place. Doing only a few exercises has genuinely improved my paddle strength though.

Powerstroke
The Powerstroke sent was not the ordered one. The dealer sent the Swim version not the Surf version - telling me it's the same item just different DVD. Kept it anyway (it's a couple of pound cheaper).Check the version offered before buying (the site gave the surf picture version but was actually the swim version)Checked out the web for training routines - no problem, found some for surfing & swimming. Both DVD version are also on the web.The Powerstroke is made with 2x bungee cords attached by plastics clips to webbing hand slings, it seems to be made OK - time will tell..It's quick & easy to use. Just attach the item onto something VERY SOLID before using. Take up the stretch and work the arms like you would swimming or paddling. Can be used any place a solid anchor point can be found.Have used the Powerstroke over a few weeks now & it gives a work out if you can't get to the pool or go surfing. You can make it hard or easy by having one or two cords attached. Helps keep the muscle groups working & toned.Happy with the work outs so far. Not a complete waste of money (if bought at the right price).Hand weights may give you the same workout until you get to the pool or sea.

Works for me
A good addition to my (smallish) collection of home gym equipment. I'm getting back into surfing after a long time away from it and this - as the name suggests - is a great way to exercise the paddling muscles when going to the pool isn't an option. It's about endurance and stamina rather than explosive power so bear in mind that you will need to be using it for 20-30 minutes minimum at a time. Also you will need something secure to which to fix it (in my case a looped door handle - no chance of it slipping off) and then about 8 feet of space to stretch the cords and work in.

Good workout aid
Not much to say, does what it's intended a good shoulder workout used to replicate paddling when the waves are flat. Check YouTube for ideas on workouts.

It's been fine since. I give it a generous 4 stars ...
Some people have criticised the build quality. Yup its a problem, one of the cords pinged out of its holder, but I superglued it together again. It's been fine since. I give it a generous 4 stars as I don't think there is anything else like it on the market.
