I do quite a bit of soldering and tinkering with electronics. I've needed a CO2 detector at my bench for quite a while. I have mounted right in front of where I do all of my work about the same level as my head.I took the back off to reveal 2 AA Energizer MAX Life batteries. This guarantees a 10 year battery lifespan. I can see why. The LCD is absolutely minimalist and draws about 20 micro amps on standby. It only draws 50 mA when the alarm is sounding. This should last for the 10 years as promised. If not, just take a flat blade screw driver and remove the triangle screw to slide down the cover. Then you can replace the batteries if need be.It comes with 2 screws and wall anchors that are in a paper bag instead of plastic. Very nice touch. I hope to see this in more items in the future. There is also a large piece of 3M double-sided tape for hanging. I used a simple drywall screw as there is a single hang point on the reverse. I will be interested to see how many PPM of CO2 I get with a wood burning project.Definitely recommended!

I don't have any way to test the calibration of this CO2 detector, but it does seem to work. Use and setup is super easy. Just remove the batter tab, and it works. Position where you want it and stick it to the wall with the included mounting tape or just carry it around and place it where you want it.

I got this because it has a 10-year battery life, so I won't have to worry about switching out the batteries after a few years. This is really easy to use - you pull out the tab to allow the batteries to make contact and then it automatically starts a warmup countdown. When it is ready, a small green power light flashes about every 40 seconds to let you know it is working. The light is small and behind the plastic so while you can see it if you are looking at it, it doesn't bother you if you have this in a bedroom. The readout is easy to read and says 0 ppm if levels are below 23. This works well and is a good price.

The battery died in less than 3 months...

I wanted a CO detector downstairs so I ordered this battery powered detector from Ecoey because it has a 10 year lifetime and theoretically a 10 year battery. The detector is labeled "Batteries not replaceable" but the preinstalled batteries are just a pair of Energizer AA batteries. Included with the detector are a brief instruction booklet and double sided mounting tape.I tested the detector with our gas stove and car exhaust. I couldn't get it to register at all with our gas stove, but I couldn't with our other detector either. With the car our other detector triggered immediately but with this one I had to hold it in the exhaust stream for quite a while before it alarmed when the level went to 290+ ppm for a short time. This alarm has a variable alarm sensitivity where the higher the concentration the shorter the time period is before it alarms, so the behavior with the car makes sense.

This Ecoey Carbon Monoxide Detector is a nice compact size and comes with a 10 year battery. It was about the same price as one that required batteries. I like that I won’t have to worry about this for 10 years…then just get a new one. I would recommend.

When I saw this detector came with a ten year battery, I ordered it. It couldn’t be easier to use. There is a slip of coated paper that you simply pull out and the detector will automatically go through a brief test and begin working. It can be installed in a variety of places and comes with adhesive tape if you want to use it. You can also hang it on a nail or place it on any surface. It’s relatively small and won’t take up a lot of space. It’s nice that it comes in a two pack as well for those with a two story or large home.
