Hard Mushroom Monotub with Temperature Hygrometer,Sturdy Mushroom Growing Kit Still Air Box, Mushroom Grow Box Mycology Supplies with Temp Humidity Adjustable Vents(Only Tray and Lid)

This item is just OK. It's a lot like all of my seed starting trays and covers with a few additions. It has an integrated humidity and temp window right on top which is nice, and it is much harder/sturdier material than a typical seed starting tray - it's more of a hard plastic (both top and bottom) which will last quite a long time with care. So that part is nice.It does have the vents that manually open, also nice.... but for mushroom growing they should have included a breathable material or stickers that covers the opening, like mushroom bags have. You don't want to let stuff in (like mold spores, for example) and I want to open the vents but worry a little about contaminating the inoculated substrate.This is actually a multi-use tray and should probably not be titled just for mushrooms. It's actually a really nice seed-starting tray that could hold quite a lot of seedlings, and you can more easily monitor the temp and humidity, so for that I do like it.I could not decide if this is a 3 or 4 star item for me - I chose 3 due to it being billed as a mushroom grow kit because it's not a kit, it's just the container. If you read the listing it does mention that this can be used for seedlings, or other things too, and I think the title needs to be reworked, it's not actually what it says it is by the title.I planted inoculated wine cap mushrooms in this b/c that is what I had on hand that was ready. I will update this if there is good success or not.

This monotub is great and quite fully featured, it makes growing mushrooms super easy. I am trying portobello and will try lions mane in the future

Decent monotub. Not the best. The integrated hygrometer is a nice touch but seems to be a bit out of whack. It is in the general area though so it should be fine for casual cultivation, just would not suggest getting a bunch of these for commercial use. This is overall a decent home set up. The price is a little more than others with the integrated hygrometers though. Plastic is nice and sturdy for multiple uses and washing out in between.

I recently got into home-growing gourmet mushrooms, and thought this tub would be a nice addition to my setup. I must say it's a fuzz disappointing, which probably comes from my own lack of attention to detail in the product listing (and some confusing perspectives on the product photos). It's very small - nowhere near large enough to hold a substantial amount of substrate, and the plastic is thin and flimsy. The built-in humidity monitor is a nice touch, but I would like to see some Smart Home features built into it such as phone push alerts if it falls below a given range. I grow my mushrooms in the basement and they can go weeks without needing tending, so I don't venture down there to check the hygrometer a lot. All in all, I would say this tub is "fine," good for small grow projects or science experiments with kids. Not so great if you've got a 5-lb block of substrate you need to fruit.

This is a good-sized mushroom tray. It's easy to use. It's made well. The plastic is strong. I like that the top has the meter on it. You can grow a good bit of mushrooms in it. So far it's holding humidity great. Easy to clean.

As a first time mushroom grower I was very excited to set up my monotubs. After putting in my spawn and substrate and putting on the lid the humidity gauges fogged up and completely stopped working. Disappointing.

This is a good quality, sturdy tray with a high dome. I really like that the dome is ventilated. The digital humidity reader already went out. Considering its use, this is something that should be made to withstand moisture but I'm wondering if that is what caused it to stop working. Overall, the tray and dome are great quality, but the humidity reader was not.

Edit: My grandson is in the process of setting this up. He used the dirt that I got for him and now we're doing research to see what else we need to get the ball rolling. Or should I say get the mushrooms rolling?Basically this is just a box with a lid. It can be used to grow mushrooms or start seeds.It is nothing special though.I ordered this for my grandson who is obsessed with mushrooms. I gave this to him, explained what it was and you would think I gave him $100.The first thing he did when he saw his dad was show him this mushroom growing box.Well, I guess if he likes it, that's all that matters.I am in the process of buying other items so he can start his mushroom growing journey.
