Serious bang for the buck
I almost ignored this jacket because of the price… it was too low. Everyone knows a good hunting jacket is expensive, sometimes ridiculously so. I am so glad I took the time to look at the reviews and I was a little shocked at how good they were. So for the money I decided to take a chance and I’m really happy I did.If you’re looking for a coat to wear stalking, hiking or walking the hills this coat might be too warm and a little on the heavy side. BUT, if you’re looking for a coat to sit in a blind, or a stand or even a boat in freezing weather this is your coat.It is warm and wind resistant. It appears to be well made. The main zipper works smoothly without constantly snagging on the lining like my $300 name brand coat. The fit is just loose enough so I can layer up easily although I’ve yet to encounter weather where it would be necessary. Admittedly, we here in the Pacific Northwest don’t generally get subzero weather much, we do get damp and dreary wet cold that creeps into your bones. Not an issue so far, including days when the wind howls down the GorgeThe bottom line is that this coat is an excellent value so far. It seems very well made and solid. The criticism that I read was nit picky at best such as the logo on the front being orange thread, or the camouflage pattern isn’t one of the known standards. Petty stuff when you consider most states require you to wear 400 square inches of hunter orange on the outside. It’s comfortable, warm, wind resistant and has a ton of pockets in which to cram stuff. Most importantly, it’s inexpensive. A good buy!
