IntelPRO/1000 Pt Server Adapter

I ordered this card because I needed a PCI Express 1X slot, single ethernet port as the system I have only has a 1X slot available and I need the intel chipset (Intel PRO/1000 Pt) for a special use case. The card that came is a dual port 4X card which is unusable to me for the current project I'm working on as it won't fit into the 1X slot.Undoubtedly I'll be able to use it in something else but I wanted to warn others that this listing is incorrect. I put my project on hold for a week while this card came just to have to wait more time and look for another someplace else.The card that came is a fine card, the listing is just incorrect.

Works, thought I would have seen massive performance improvement over the desktop version, not really. Its double the price, not double the performance. All in all, a good nic, I try to use intel nics were ever possible, they give much better performance in my opinion over the onboard varieties, mostly Realtek (reason I do like the mini-itx foam factor, can't change the nic without sacrificing something, dtx will do it for me, with pci-express 2 16 slot and pci-express 1 slot)Used it in freeNas and its presently in ubuntu 8.10, running linuxmce.

Turned old computer into a router and needed an extra network card that works well with pfSense. This does the job.

Note that this is the server version of the Pro/1000 and PXE is disabled by Intel at the factory. You can find directions to enable PXE booting on the net, but the program to enable PXE runs under MSDOS, not Windows or Linux, so it is quite a chore.

I wanted to set up a VMWare lab at home, and VMWare is VERY picky about network interface cards. I popped this NIC into an older, spare desktop and was able to install VMWare esxi 6.0 hypervisor and get my lab working. No problems with the product at all, and my lab has been running for quite some time with three virtual servers running inside VMWare esxi 6.0. Fun project!

Want an awesome gaming network card? Forget the KILLER brand cards, they arent that great! Intel is THE best! Now my lag is gone! Killer NIC lags and Intel doesnt or not as much. FAST FAST FAST on my network with transferring data to server or other computers. Trust me on this! Get this NIC for gaming!

I always by intel for compatibility reasons and this one works well with vmware esxi so 4 stars, the only negative is its a bit pricey but I guess you slap a SERVER label on anything and automatically get charged double.

Does what Intel NICs do. Work.

Was bought to replace another onboard network adapter that was not recognized by ESXi Server installation. Even though it's more expensive than most NICs, it was recognized by ESXi so it was worth it.

もちろん通常長さのブラケットも同梱されてますが取り換える手間がかかります。サーバー用みたいですがWindows10Proで問題なく認識されます。

マザーボードのLANが死んだので購入。問題なく使えてます。

A6-6400K+A55BM-A/USB3+Win10pro64ファイルサーバーとして使っているPCでオンボードLANを使用していましたが通気性の悪いPCなので気温が上がって熱を持つのか最近大量のファイルを転送していると不定期にパケットが止まってしまう状態に。NICはINTELと決めているのでAMDマシンなれどこちらのサーバー用NICを購入。静電気防止袋にエアクッション(プチプチ)を巻いた状態で到着し、製品自体の外箱などはありません。他の方も書かれていますが、到着時にヒートシンクが外れてチップ上の熱伝導テープっぽいのがむき出しでした。製品写真にもある金属製の金具でテンションをかけて基板上の穴に出っ張りを引っ掛けているだけなので、水平方向に力がかかるとすぐに外れてしまう機構です。新品なのにヒートシンクが外れているなんて…とかそういうのを気にする人にはオススメしませんが、取り外しが簡単で自分でグリスなどを簡単に塗り直せますので、そういうのを気にしない人は楽で良いです。うちのネットワーク環境では、以前は取り付けPCのオンボードLANで大体300～400Mbps程度がピークでかなり上下変動がありましたが、本製品にしてからは平均的に300～400Mbps程度出ていて変動幅が以前より少なく安定しているので、使い勝手は問題ありません。パケットの停止や取りこぼしもありません。もちろんWin10ではドライバも自動的に導入されます。現在のところ製品の稼働自体には問題はありませんが、輸送状態などが一般的な製品には劣ると考え星4つ。

I bought this card because the Ethernet adapter in my PC tower did not support VMWare. Put this in and works great.
