3.0lbs wax-Candle making kit with wax melter

This was a perfect kit for a girls day gathering. It came with everything you need (I would recommend two pots if you have a group so you can melt batches of wax quicker). The burner worked great and I didn’t have any issues with it overheating or not functioning properly. The wax beads are so great and melt super quick so there’s minimal delay between candles. The smells were alright but kind of reminded me of the smell of cat litter….. I loved the variety of wax colors, little additions like flowers and the containers complete with stickers. A couple of the girls made candles and boxed them up as gifts for family members! Definitely recommend this kit!

Awesome quality set for someone trying it out. Everything is included. Hot plate, pitcher, wax, scents, labels, stirrers, containers and lids, wicks the whole 9 yards. You could absolutely gift this set however that’s not my intention. I’m a semi empty nester and need a hobby to occupy my time. Great for beginners and I’m excited to get started and see if this is the hobby for me. I’ve only made one candle so far and I mixed scents so I jacked it up but it looks good just smells terrible. lol I have lots more to tinker with and practice makes perfect, right?

The amount of supplies bin this kit was great, good quality. But the scents they include could use some improvement.

My daughter is the one who loves crafts and making candles and I try to give her one of these kits every holiday to encourage her creativity. This kit is amazing because it comes with so many different options to make beautiful candles. I especially love that it comes with plant-based wax so I don't have to worry about her working with any wax that would be unhealthy. My daughter especially loved the variety of essential oils so she can add scent to the candles she's making. Great kit well worth the money!

The electric stove (hot plate) cord melted at connection to electric stove. Requested a refund. This happen d during the required 20 minute warm up to remove protective coating.

As a beginner, I would buy this kit again simply because it was a great price to get the very basic things I needed to learn. However, the oils included are not really high quality at all (honestly not to be expected at this price). I wouldn't have even knocked a star off for that because I wasn't expecting much at the price point, but every single one of them had leaked out. I didn't get a full bottle of any of them. However, I love that so many tin jars with lids were included, as well as all the other pieces. As someone who has no intention of selling, it was a great kit to start learning and to have some candles I have made myself around the house. I will buy better quality fragrance oils to make more.

She always says, “If you’re going to do something, do it right!” and, in this case, she followed her own advice, ordering this comprehensive kit which comes with all the supplies you need to make an impressive amount and variety of candles. If you are not familiar with the basics of candle making, I would highly recommend that you watch the video on the product page for this kit. The process is relatively simple; the largest hurdle that most people face is assembling the myriad of materials required. This kit solves that problem! In particular, having a portable stove top and a pouring pot dedicated to creating candles makes everything a lot easier, eliminating cleanup that can be quite time consuming. The kit provides enough supplies to produce at least eighteen candles; after completing a dozen or so, you will likely have mastered the basics allowing you to experiment (if you wish) with other containers or scented oils. Overall, the quality of the materials included in the kit is very good. There is no question that beeswax is an excellent product to work with and usually yields top notch results. I appreciate that the essential oils are included in the kit along with some dried flowers (you can, of course, experiment with your own). The idea of including tins to make candles in and gift boxes to wrap them in is excellent. It is nice to see that the manufacturer has included items such as a thermometer, a hot pad and a stirring spoon that people often don’t anticipate needing when they are getting set up to make candles. Whether you pursue candle making alone or as a family activity, with everything you need to get started, this kit provides a great gateway into the hobby. The real beauty of this product is the fact that, after crafting the eighteen candles in this kit, you will have the knowledge and a lot of the equipment needed to carry on in the hobby. This kit would make a lovely gift to yourself or any aspiring candlemaker. Highly recommended.

Every candle making set will come with wax, coloring, scents etc. Therefore, I'm not going to talk about those things in this review. Looking over the description and the descriptive pictures will tell you everything you need to know about the accessories. What I do want to talk about is the heart of this candle making kit. The heating plate and wax pot. Candle making sets that are designed for larger production often will have a self-contained heating pot with a spigot to pour the wax. This set is intended for small production runs. For making candles for yourself or as a gift to a friend. Keeping that in mind, this particular candle making set uses a hot plate and a stainless-steel pot with a well insulated handle. Because the heat generated from a hotplate depends on external factors such as room temperature and the size and type of pot placed on it, they don't have preset temperatures on the control knob. The control knob simply has the numbers one to five to set the temperature of the hotplate. For this reason, it will take some time to learn exactly where you set the controls. In time you will learn what the best setting will be. Another nice thing about using a hot plate is that you can place the candle tins on it to remelt old candles and salvage the unused wax. Wax is expensive and, in my opinion, salvaging wax is always a good idea. Of course, be sure to use tongs or oven gloves when doing that. The tins will get very hot. The melting pot has markings on the inside of the pot so you can easily see how much wax is in it. So, in conclusion, this type of candle making set utilizing a hotplate and melting pot is great for beginners or for those who only want to do a small production run. The instructions are clear but watching a few videos on the subject is also a good idea. It is a wonderful and complete set that is perfect for beginners. Everything you need to start making candles is included. It was easy to give it a 5-star rating.

VINE REVIEWS - This kit reminded me of my school days when I used to learn making candles. This kit is much advanced than old days moldings as this comes with complete set including electric heater, wax jug, thermometer, color dye, essence oils and dried flowers. They come with special candle boxes which can be presented as gift to someone as well. The wax is individually packed in different bags to maintain the dryness. We tried Lavender, Jasmine and Eucalyptus candles so far and they all smell amazing. These are perfect to use for candle light dinner and such events. Overall, I like this candle making kit.

This is a complete, well-planned kit that includes everything you need to try your hand and candle making. A step further would include a fancy mould and different waxes. Here you get soy wax, scissors, spoon, thermometer, colours, fragrances, potpourri, wicks with holding sticks, melting pot, a rubber pad and a hot plate. At the end you can pour the mixtures into provided tins and affix the warning labels. The hot plate might be an overkill – surely this can be done in the kitchen on a stove. It’s a good value. I don’t like the black metal tins. There is nothing wrong with them but somehow, they do not math the aesthetic and flow of this set. They should be clear glass or at least not black. There are some extras so you may be able to make more in your own containers. You will be left with extra dye and extra fragrances as well. This would be a great gift for a teen or someone eager to try new crafts.
