The product was exactly as the other buyers with negative reviews described. The cord is way too short. The tip is made of cheap metal and one it gets hot, it turns blue, and the tip becomes loose and wobbles, the dial is almost too small to read. The product is also a hazard because it gets too hot to hold without being burned. I returned the product fifteen minutes after it was opened.

I bought 2 if these wood burning kits. One for myself and one as a gift for my sister. I opened mine and started using it. I am extremely disappointed. The pen gets extremely hot and burns my hand even with the heat shield. But more than that, no matter how tight I twist the top onto the pen, once it heats up, the tip will not stay tight to the pen. It becomes loose and wabbles making it impossible to make a clean line. I tried several of the tips with the same results. I read through the vague instructions many times from cover to cover and there is no help to solve this issue. Once got there is no way to tighten the tip back down without turning it off and waiting for it to cool down. Once tightened again, it does the same thing once it gets hot again. I looked everywhere in the pamphlet for a number to call or manufacture website to contact but there is no information on the maker or a customer service contact. I have a number of projects I want to complete for Christmas presents and I need a wood burning kit to complete them. This is not doing it for me and I’m not wanting to give my sister a defective product for her birthday. It’s worthless to me. Not a happy camper at all. Poor workmanship!!! Don’t buy it!!!!

This product is generally functional. The heating was great and worked generally well for the first half of my 4ft x 1.ft picture. I had three main problems with this pyrography tool. First, there is a cylinder under the protective tube which is too short and therefore lets the burning tip spin when trying to navigate "flow-y" designs. Making it impossible to do curved designs with the flat tips. Second, many of the tips did not screw in all the way due to crooked threading. The third problem is probably more my fault for using the tool too long. The heat allowed the whole tube above the handle to bend significantly. It didn't break, but be careful with pressure if you are using the tool for a long time. Probably works well for small projects.

First wood burning tool I ever purchased and it was lousy. Stated it was professional grade. The tool over heated and was hot while holding it. The electric cord was extremely short, making the use of an extension cord necessary. The tips bent and one broke off inside the tool making it unable to ever be used again. All in all, VERY cheaply made. I would not buy from this supplier again.

This is a very good product for the wood burning beginner, as well as an excellent tool for the home hobbyist (cutting plastic, etc). The only thing that I did not really like was the colored pencils, pretty much a waste of space.If you are serious about wood burning and coloring your work these are not the best method to use (my opinion).

The tips are hard to change as the threading doesn't line up right.It's too long (the tip is much longer than what it looks like in this picture.Also burned myself right off the bat (so much for protective finger rest).

Not happy with this Item.......Unit does not work like it was described.....Tips fall apart and break off. The light in the unit does not work. The collar that holds the tip spins and you can not control your lines.......Sorry.....ONE Star *

While I liked the tool at first, it was cheap! The tip kept loosening up and while it was hot I had to continuously tighten the tips as they were unscrewing. I went to tighten the tip and the part that screwed into the tip of the pen broke off into the unit. The pen is unusable therefore I had to buy a new one. Poor quality. Wish it came with bigger ballpoint tips as well.
