Not so much for my feet, which are size 13 extra wide. These socks would fit me better if they were longer and wider.

Roomy, no, but comfy as heck. Love this great fitting soft socks. No worries on this purchase. 8.5 is fine here.

Q: Are these tight or binding at the top?

My son is wearing them and likes the socks. They are just right the way they are. Perfect fit without complaint. Neither tight nor loose.
