Bottom bracket measures 0.8 inch in height, 1.6 inch in width, and 8.5 inches deep (including wall plate).

Q: What is the distance between the centers of the two holes used for mounting the brackets?

Distance between two holes is 1 3/4 inch.

Q: From pictures it seems that the sound bar is on the mount and not secured. Is there a screw or connection that secures the sound bar from falling?

The package comes with Screws and plastic anchor that holds the wall mount in place. Q: Are the bars at a right angle or do they angle up slightly? I want to mount a center channel that is 15 inches deep.

They are 8 and 3/8 long. So...15 inches on your center speaker will likely NOT work with these. I have a Klipsch Center Speaker on these and they are basically 8 inches long.
