Fun but also educational
Can always rely on Learning Resources to deliver and this is a lovely fun but also educational Robot that works successfully on so many levels. Top quality, hours of play.

Great fun
I ordered this for my son and gave it to him to play with on a wet day and he spent all day with it. Botley has 4 basic instructions (forward, back, turn left, turn right) and you programme in a series of commands and submit. Botley then follows these instructions. You can the clear these and start again or build on these (up to 80 commands in total). You can also loop (or repeat) your commands so my son has spent ages giving him different codes and moving him round the house. He also has some "secret codes" you can use. It's easy to use and you will need 5 AAA batteries in total. It works best on a hard floor and it's great fun.

Excellent robot
Really impressed with the obstacle detection of this robot and also the line following capabilities. He is really fun to play with and a good robot design. Can't recommend him enough for children between the ages of 5 and 9. Another great feature is his volume control button so when you get fed up with the cute robot noises you can turn him down. Excellent

Educational
This is quite simple in many ways - but that’s partly the beauty of it. It raises interest and questions in children about a complicated subject area. Hence - a really good idea. My children have enjoyed messing around with Botley. Would recommend.

Faulty product delivered
At first, the product came with parts missing Amazon was highly helpful in sending a replacement soon. But the new product did not work at all. Even with brand new, good quality batteries, the robot did not move am inch (we followed all instructions). Had to return the product both times for good.
