Does the job
Neither this small padlock nor the many other TSA approved locks are solid, robust locks. Their shanks are thin and could be easily cut open with the right tool, and their code is typically only 4 digit, so could be found with time. Remember that most suitcases have zipper closures, so are always going to at risk of being cut open. But TSA approved padlocks are a useful deterrent, which is what you are looking for. Put your valuables in your carry on.

Follow Mark’s Instructions!
I followed the directions in Mark's review dated April 2025, and was able to set the combination easily. Durability remains to be seen

Good zipper lock
I used it to lock the zippers on my backpack together. It's easy to change the combination if you follow the instructions. No complaints.

Setting The Combination
I'm writing mainly because some said they couldn't change the preset code (including me, initially). I found the written directions misleading and the QR-code video wasn't much better (since there's no audio explanation). Ignore the written directions regarding "the notch" and try the steps below (*3 is the step that I think some people miss, as I did at first):1) Open the shackle as shown on the picture on the cover of the directions.2) Turn it towards you 90° and it will drop down a bit, but it won't turn further.*3) Push the shackle down a bit further (you'll feel springy resistance) then turn it the full 180°.4) In that 180° position, you can change the dials to the code you want.5) Return the shackle into its receptacle and then scramble the code to lock it.So far I'm happy with these locks. They fit properly, are easy to read and reset, and the yellow color is easy to spot on my suitcases. Although I just bought them and therefore can't comment on their reliability, a number of reviewers said they have lasted for years.
