I first bought this kit at Neiman Marcus in 1982. Once the contents were used, I tried to find a replacement but couldn't. Fast forward 40 years and lo and behold when I entered 'Nail Buffing System' on Amazon this kit appeared! I was so excited. I love how the cream makes my nails shine, with a bit of elbow grease. The system is super easy to use with a bit of buffing, so it's great to use for those periods when you need to give your nails a break from polish.

I love this Japanese manicure set. It is a very old school, but old school works. When I use the set multiple times a week, according to the instructions, my nails are hard and strong. I can't wear nail polish or fake nails anymore because they cause my nails to get brittle. This helped to build my nails back up after they were chipping and breaking all the time.

Update: have had this for a few months now and just wanted to say I like it a lot more now. A few reasons - 1) I started using more paste or powder per buff. This made a big difference in results. Now I get a nice glossy effect, better than my usual nail file type buffer. And 2) I notice something I appreciate over disposable buffers is that ever application of paste from this kit is "new." So the buffiness doesn't like rub off or run out or need to be replaced. So I like that every manicure is fresh paste and powder, just the right abrasiveness. So its never like using a worn out buffer that's been used a couple times which was frustrating in the past. So I've come around to like this set a lot more since my first review and wanted to be fair in my comments!This works ok! But it is really overly complicated and bulky and messy, compared to a simple buffing file. The powders get all over. It's also way more expensive. I wanted to try something different that was supposed to be good for my nails but I don't see any improvement over my regular buffing... and the price would pay for ten buffers that would each last me six months or more. And they would be a lot less cumbersome complicated and bulky to use.

I've been looking for this stuff for a long time. I first bought it in Chicago almost 50 years ago. I've found it a few times in the past. It's really a nice it just refreshed your nails getting rid of ridges and discoloration and leaves a subtle sheen. If you polish after or stay natural it's great

This was recommended by my manicurist (I don’t usually wear polish)and I was hesitant because of the price, but it’s worth it. Note- The paste and polish are kind of crumbly but that’s not a defect.

Hindsight is 50/50 and no judgement for those that that wear gels/acrylics. I have been a long time user going back to the 70's. My mother and great aunt's did too. P. Shine delivers and easy to use. I mention hindsight because in between for me using P. Shine I had acrylics. When covid hit I let it go. My nails were a hot mess. Since then they still were always chipping and brittle. I HAVE NOT BEEN PAID for this review but have to say my nails are strong and beautiful. I'll be a lifer. If you have tried and weren't impressed it's probably one of the two or both; not enough product and/or not buffing hard enough. If you have yet to try, try it. Free return option...but if you use this correctly there's no need to return.
