It reads/write DVD & CD. A very simple device and convenient. It comes with USB/Thunderbolt style cable. It fills the void of my new Mac that did not come with this feature. I don't use it to write any DVDs, but its nice to have the options.

It’s ashamed cd players have been removed from most laptops, that’s on this little guy works great and serves its self with the extras like the SD/tif card reader and the USB has worked great for my needs

From looks alone, this drive looks a bit comical... there's really no good reason the top of this drive needs to look like something out of a science fiction movie. Just make it flat, and give me good performance. Aesthetics aside, it has a built-in cable underneath... very handy. You absolutely DO need to plug in the secondary 5v power cable (micro-usb), otherwise I couldn't get it to recognize disks or play anything. Sadly, that means you need to carry a cable with it, which adds to the clutter. On the plus-side, this drive did fairly well at reading slight-to-moderately scratched disks. My internal drives were the best in this regard--but for an external, this one performed better than two others that I own.I only tried playing discs, ripping to ISO, and burning DVDs. No problems (aside from some failures with scratched disks, which was to be expected). I also tried the sd slots and the usb slots (ie it's a big hub), and those little bonus features appeared to work just fine. I also only tested it with Windows 11. I just wish the optical drive was more sensitive. At the review price of $35, it's not bad value for the money, but I have seen similar offerings in the $25-$30 range.

It works

It is so easy to use this product and I'm not very tech savvy. I plugged it in and got it to work. Also I prefer the Logitech mouse and plugged in the bluetooth connector into this device. Heaven!

Wife using on desktop computer as it doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. Works excellent for installing or listening to discs. She has not yet burned anything to disc so hopefully that will go well when try. Plug-in cord is way too short so she had to buy an extension (USB male - USB female ends) between the drive and the computer in order to plug it in. That seems to work well so far. So far that is the only issue. Would recommend this as it works well, but if using on a desktop, buy an USB extension. Extension would not be needed for a laptop as the drive has enough length to plug in beside it. Plug-in cord is as short as shown in diagram (about 6").

Veloce e funzionale

I bought one of these recently as the cd/dvd drive packed up on my laptop and was not recognised. It's really fast and efficient at ripping cds, and also i had to re-install some editing software from a cd and it did this very quickly. No installation needed and it comes with it's own cable you just plug into a USB port.....cable could have done with being a bit longer though. There's also 4 slots on the top, one for an SD card and the others for USB 3.0, USB 2.0, USB C too. I ripped 21 cds in an afternoon. Very quiet in operation too.

Gutes Gerät. Wird sehr schnell er kannt bei einer DVD.Auch das Brennen geht sehr zügig.Es hat auch einenKartenlesegerät dran die Computer oder Leptop haben heute keinen Anschluß mehr.
