Take It From An Honor Roll Tutor...
I am a tutor at a medical college. Learning medical terminology can be a daunting task for every student. I have found that most of my students have severe issues in this exact area, hindering their ability to excel in the classroom. I suggested to one of my students that she look into obtaining a reference guide for terminology and she did. She went from being a "C" student to an "A" student. When I asked her what reference guide she bought, this is the book she showed me. I bought one for my sister who was having difficulty and she has been doing much better in just the short time she has had it (2-3 weeks). Her homework has been easier to complete, her retention has improved, and her her test scores have improved. I am currently in the process of getting the school I work for to buy some for our library so that our students may have some on campus and be able to check them out as needed. The book itself is small in size in comparison to other terminology books I have seen. It is precise and easy to understand. Many terminology books are organized by body system which can hinder a student who is just starting out. This book is in alphabetical order which makes looking up unfamiliar words a breeze. It also has a bit of color coding, with most of the book printed in red and memory keys (important to know/remember) in blue. Appendix A defines the formation of medical terminology explaining how combining forms are used. Appendix B is a pronunciation guide. Appendix C deals with plural formation (example: index becomes indices). Appendix D deals with the use of common suffixes (example: cardi/o means heart and -ac means pertaining to, so cardiac means pertaining to the heart). Appendix E deals with common prefixes (example: cost/o means ribs and infra- means below and -al means pertaining to, so infracostal means pertaining to below the ribs). Appendix F is an extremely useful section which has diagrams of body systems such as cardiovascular, endocrine, and lymphatic just to name a few.I was a bit concerned when I ordered this book since the copyright date was almost 10 years old, but I have found nothing in it yet that needs to be updated. What I love the best about this book is the fact that it doesn't matter if you're an honor roll student such as myself, or struggling like my students, this book is as easy to understand as possible and is an excellent educational resource. I have included pictures above so you may reference its size, the color coding, and the diagrams. I hope this review was helpful to you.

Medical Terminology Q Quick Reference
This product is excellent. I teach Medical Terminology and the first day of class, I tell my students to order it from AMAZON. Some have found it for a great price of $1.50. Others find it for more. These students that buy it, love...Other students are always asking to borrow it.

Quick Reference to Medical Terminology.
The title says it all. A good book as a reference. Small enough to carry around. Set out differently than other books on the subject. There is an alphabetical section (by common prefix, root or suffix). Not quite a dictionary, not quite all the novice needs.
