Slot Size added to review
This product is sound. Its rubber compound is tough and up to its weight bearing task over a storm drain. I had to modify its 10" width because of my application (first picture shows the left side cut back 1/2"). Be advised that if you need to cut it down with a table saw, it will emit a strong odor when heated from the friction of the saw blade--so beware and wear a fume mask with an organic barrier. It could be cut with a sharp knife but it's tough going. (picture 2)Somebody asked about the size of the slots. they are slightly different for the two different sized grates: the 10" wide ones have slots measuring 12mm x 94mm, while the narrower 8" ones have slots measuring 12mmx 62mm.
