John GloverLondon's Underground 12th edition

Already owning a few books from the author, I knew what to expect, but this went beyond all my expectations. Greatly appreciated work with many aspects that were still unknown to despite being found of LU. Definitively recommended reading.

Not comprehensive enough to get five stars but the choice of photos is pretty good and the text/captions fairly informative. My knowledge of the UndergrounD is not as extensive as other UK railways and I enjoyed this book. Probably fair to say: it left me wondering about stuff, rather than answering questions. Further reading is requiref on this subject and I may well come back to this book in the future.

John Glover always does a wonderful job with any book that he writes, and this is no exception. It is not for the "trainspotters", but narrates a very clear history of the London Underground, right from the early beginnings with the "cut and cover" tunnels on what is now the northern part of the Circle Line, to the latest additions of bored tube lines. I have read many previous books on this subject, but this one fills in quite a few gaps in my knowledge. I am only just over half way through the book, but I look forward to reading the rest of it.An excellent book - well worth the price !

This is a decent book for railway fans, but it does verge on the overly technical at points especially for those who have never worked in the industry. It could really, really benefit from better diagrams and graphics. For the most part, images are just of trains where diagrams of the subject matter at hand would be more useful. A good resource nonetheless.

Last had a copy of issue 8. Well written with the early history made even more interesting. Bang up yo date.
