I recently received the 5-in-1 Dog Brush Grooming Kit and I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised with how well it works for the price. At first glance, the set may look a bit cheap, but don't let that fool you. It may not be the most high-end grooming kit on the market, but it definitely gets the job done.One of the most impressive tools in this kit is the hair removal rake. I have a retriever with a thick coat and I have struggled to find a brush that can effectively remove all the loose hair. However, this rake does the job effortlessly. It removes the undercoat without causing any discomfort to my dog and leaves her coat looking shiny and healthy.Another great tool is the self-cleaning brush. My boxer absolutely loves the feel of this brush on his fur. It's gentle yet effective in removing any loose fur. And the best part is, the self-cleaning feature makes it so easy to remove the hair from the brush, saving me time and effort.The other tools in the set, such as the large comb and flea comb, work well too.Overall, I am very satisfied with this 5-in-1 Dog Brush Grooming Kit. It may not be the most expensive or luxurious set, but for the price, it definitely exceeded my expectations. It has made grooming my dogs much easier and more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this set to any pet owner looking for an affordable yet effective grooming kit for their furry friends.

I wasn’t too impressed initially. The brush handles are plasticky and lightweight, though the bristles and combs are metal. I grabbed the kit though when we went to visit my parents and took two of our dogs. After a long walk near the Hudson River, I came home to find a tick on one of my dogs. I had a terrible case of Lyme disease a few years ago and am terrified of getting it again. I went to get this kit which as a flea/tick comb which I used with both dogs. We sleep with them so being able to comb them for ticks provided a lot of relief. I like that there are a variety of brushes and combs and they all come in an easy to grab, pack and store zippered bag. When we returned home, I used the undercoat comb on my long-haired black cat. He hadn’t been brushed since we went away and you can see from the photo how much hair I removed in a few minutes. He had had enough so we took a break but there is plenty more brushing and combing to do. The kit was even useful for cleaning the carpet of the fur that remained. Though you definitely can buy higher quality individual tools, this was a surprise success in my house. The tools are comprehensive so you can find in it what you need and it really was great to have that tick comb when I needed it. I know if I had to rush out to buy one, it would have easily cost the price of this whole kit.

So I think I need to get this out of the way first, this might seem a little overpriced, and I thought so too. The brushes are about the same quality as your local pet store brand. HOWEVER a lot of comparable kits have smaller (compact) size brushes and these are actually in between compact and full size. ALSO, this has a self cleaning slicker. Even a normal slicker brush at least in my local stores, is going to take up half or more the price this kit is at. So that alone makes this worth considering. It isn't ridiculously cheap, but it also isn't really overpriced. You can check slicker brush and self cleaning one prices at your local store for comparison but at least where I am, this justifies the price.That out of the way, it is really an ok kit. Like I said, the quality is on par with my local store brands. The silicone scrubber I think might work ok for a short hair dog (ours is not). I do really like the slicker because the one we have that come with our kit, first of all is not self cleaning, and second I don't like accidentally poking my fingers with it so this will be a nice change. The storage bag is kind of just there to hold all the contents together for shipping, you could maybe use it for something else but we usually have all the brushes in a shower caddy or bucket or something similar. Also, yes the flea comb is slightly fanned out. I'm not sure why but at least mine looks exactly like the pictures. Fortunately we've never gotten fleas and these are usually only used to take out small matts and knots.Overall this is a great kit once you consider it has a self cleaning slicker with tipped bristles. Value may depend on how many of the items in the kit you will actually use, but for us this seems like a great deal.Will update if there are any major issues with the brushes in the future.

Even though this says it's a dog grooming set it's also great for cats. We have a dog and three cats and have used a few of these on them a few times now. Depending on the length of your pets hair will determine which brush/comb will work best. The self-cleaning brush is my favorite of all as it's the easiest to clean once full of hair. I like to run the flea comb through my pets after they have been outdoors just to be safe that they didn't bring in any unwanted critters.

Usually these sets include one or two useful items and the rest are silly gimmicky garbage that no one will use, but every tool in this set is very useful and great quality. I don’t know why it’s marketed only for dogs, I’m using it for cats and it works great. I have this same brush in a few different colors because I’m such a fan of this particular kind. They do such a good job and are so easy to clean, the cats love them, and they’re very durable and hold up well. It’s what I use most to keep shedding under control but every tool in here is great. Definitely recommend.
