Thought you had Bloc Party pegged Prepare to be surprised. Make that very surprised. The London four-piece have always had an undertow of dance music, something to do with their propulsive rhythm section perhaps, but their Instalment in the !K7 Tapes series, selected and mixed by Kele, is pretty much a full-on dance oor set full of twists and turns.

Why don't people read descriptions......
I am quite frankly, astonished, by the at present two negative reviews of this album. Both reviewers failed to actually review the music, and instead merely highlight to other Amazon users their inability to read. The album is clearly listed as a '15-track CD album featuring material selected and mixed by front man Kele Okereke'. This is not hidden away in the depths of the description, but instead is in the first line. It seems to be that Amazon is full of more and more of these types of 'reviews', where people do not actually review what it is they have bought!! Kele is well known for his love of electronica, as evidenced by his solo album The Boxer. This mix album shows his tastes, and there are some great little numbers on here. My personal favourites are Numbers in Action (Sticky Remix) - Wiley, and Rip Groove - Double 99. Anyone who was in a club in the nineties will love this remix (god that makes me feel old). Anyway, I personally read the description, had a good idea of what I was going to get, and loved it!! 5 stars. Oh, and FWIW Gordon Griffin, this is the first time I've felt strongly enough to review an album too. Peace out......

Dissapointed
My own fault for not looking closely. I thought this was a new Bloc Party album it is not really. It's a electronic dance album and not too my taste at all and NOTHING like the previous albums. Try some samples before you buy. One star because it is not what I was expecting, you can't rate music, because it is personal taste.

THIS IS NOT A BLOC PARTY ALBUM
Titling this album, and attributing it to "Bloc Party" is, frankly, misrepresentation. It is just a bunch of dance remixes of random, other groups. It is unlikely to be to the taste of a lot of Bloc Party fans. I'm not averse to a bit of electronica or dance, but I cant listen to this stuff and I am actually going to delete it from my itunes library to stop it coming up in shuffles. Like the other reviewer, more fool me for not listening to the samplers. Shame on Bloc party and their label for releasing this under their name. FWIW, this is the first time I've felt strongly enough to review an album!
