Zip Up Cable Tidy With Cable Tags

Not really sure how to rate this - it's not what I hoped for, but then maybe I am completely misguided in what I was expecting. The construction is robust and I'm sure would stand up to years of 'wear', however the material isn't particularly flexible, and if it does flex the available space to feed wires through is greatly reduced. It's not really that useful for tidying the cables from the back of a PC, but may be of more benefit in separating the wires of individual components when setting up a home entertainment system/T.V and satellite box etc.The tags are a good idea in theory, but in practice are absolutely tiny and the material is very difficult to write on. You can't use a marker as it's too broad, a biro wont put any ink down, and a rollerball style pen smudges everywhere. Personally I ended up 'flagging' the wires with a regular sticky address label, which is far more effective and doesn't slide down the wire like these tags were prone to do.In summary, I didn't get any use out of this purchase, but I could see that some people might. Especially if the wires were straight for a meter or so.

After a house move I found that I had a motley collection of cables near one corner of the living area because of an unavoidable closeness of the audio system, TV, power supplies, broadband router and telephone.The mess this produced was only visible for a short distance but was very unsightly, so I looked for some way to tidy it all up. This cable tidy has done a very good job indeed, and things now look much better. It was extremely easy to gather the wires together, fit the cable tidy around them and then zip it up, so that in a minute or two the job was done.Two criticisms prevent a five star review, and these arise because I think the tidy is really intended to group cables behind a desk rather than along the edge of a carpet in a living area. The end result would have been even more acceptable had the tidy been available in a less obvious colour than black, and also I would have preferred it to be just a little longer than it was.For the more normal gathering together of cables behind a computer or desk it is perhaps a little expensive, but for my purpose it worked well and was certainly extremely easy to use.

The cable tidy is a slim tube of black material about 30cm long with a full length zip.At first it appears quite narrow and with not much give in the material, but after putting half a dozen power cables into the sleeve and zipping it up you can see the real benefit of it being so "snug": it is incredibly discreet and compact and therefore really does a great job of holding the cables out of sight. It looks as though it will easily take another 5 or 6 cables without having to fight to get the zip shut - possible 12 thick cables in total (more if thinner cables)Though it is worth advising that because it is so tight it holds cables in a single alignment only ("North to south" for example from units to power socket) and if other connector cables run "east to west" from Bluray, Sky, Xbox to receiver etc then you're going to need another one.The pack also comes with c20 cable tags which are robust and easy to write details on.

Would not by another one

Very good idea. Our cables had been a mess at the back of our TV for ages, so this was really handy. Would maybe have been better if the cable tidy was a wee bit longer, but apart from that, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Truthfully was not to sure what to expect with this but when it arrived I was well shocked that it's quite expensive for what it is but like I said it does the job..

Easy to put on, very tidy in my TV corner now. Such a simple idea!
