New BalanceWomen's Fresh Foam X Hierro V7 Trail Running Shoe

Damaged my knees hiking in the Alps a couple of years ago. Two arthroscopic surgeries and years of physical therapy later, it was all I could do to walk even short distances without experiencing pain. It was my good fortune to happen across a pair of these sneakers while out shopping one day. I feel like someone waved a magic wand! They are lightweight, well cushioned to protect from impact, comfortable, and provide excellent support. I have purchased three pairs here on Amazon. I’m literally living in these sneakers; the variety of great color combinations make them fun to wear with anything . Love the snazzy laces, too. They’re a perfect fit right out of the box, and are well-made.

I bought these without trying on anywhere and that’s always a risk!They fit perfect at the normal size that I order (9.5 wide). They’re great on trails but I actually love them on pavement and treadmill too! They are a great color, don’t look dirty even with trail dust and are so comfy!

Right before the Hawaii Iron Man 11 years ago, I was hit by a car while running. I was throwing 56 feet and nearly killed. 11 surgeries and 11 years of physical therapy later and I can walk again! I'm doing trails now because it's so much easier on my joints, so I set up to buy trail shoes. I have an exercise science BS and exercise medicine MS, so I understand biomechanics, but shoes have evolved greatly in the last couple years. I did some research and tried on literally 15 pairs of the top trail shoes.I wanted at least one pair that were waterproof (GTX). I need shoes that are lightweight, narrow/low volume, neutral, straight-lasted, max cushioned yet with road feel, stability without motion control and built to last. I thought I'd have to compromise, but I didn't! I chose these for the waterproof ones. They have added to protection for trails, also. I might have liked the Hoka Challenger ATX 7 GTX Better but couldn't find it in my size. Plus I got a good deal on these on Amazon. I have to admit the ones I like even better than these are the Brooks Caldera 6 that I also got a good deal here on Amazon. They're not waterproof and don't have much toe protection, but they are the most cushioned yet stable shoes I've ever worn.FYI, this listing offers the Hierro in both GTX and non-GTX models, so pay attention when you order. GTX models will have a tag on the side at the ankle that says Gore-Tex and the listing should say GTX. Also note that GTX is waterproof, which is superior to those that just say water resistant or shield. Also, I bought the ones with the image showing the shoes as light gray with light blue accent color, but mine came all light blue. That's fine with me, but just so you know. My photo looks a little washed out.

These have good cushion and the traction is great. My only complaint is that the New Balance wide is not like it used to be. It needs more room for the toes not just the widest part of the foot. I wear a 10 but always go up a half size for running shoes. The 10.5 wide fits pretty good, just wish they had more room for the toes.

I've tried a lot of different sneakers and these have been by far the best! so comfortable and I'm on my feet all day at work (healthcare). love them! Great quality, fit, support and comfort.

I run everyday and the rocky trails are pretty hard on my shoes but I've never had to replace them so soon. I have wide feet so I typically love new balance shoes but these just didn't last . When I first got these shoes they fit well and provided a lot of support. It's been barely 3 months and they are already falling apart. I'm pretty dissapointed because they were so comfy when I first got them. The laces needed to be relpaced after a month and now the inner lining on both shoes is torn exposing sharp pieces inside that rub against my feet, causing pain and blisters.

Sizing is really off for these. I have the women’s More v4 and size 8.5 was perfect and roomy in those. Ordered 8.5 of these and it was slamming the end of my toes, no room vertically or length wise. Got .5 size up and full size up to compare. Size 9 fits me perfect and 9.5 felt way too big. Just go one .5 size up for women’s sizing if you know your women’s size in another NB style. Love the colors and retro details on these. Great price compared to Hoka speedgoat 5, those had heel slip issue and these seem to hug my heels.

I have purchased this exact style of shoe with and without Gortex multiple times. This particular pair was labeled as having Gortex and being water resistant. However, after just a couple of uses, I realized they did not repel water any better than the regular ones. My feet were wet and the shoes smelled awful after walking through wet grass (they were not ever submerged in water or anything). Unfortunately, I didn't start using the shoes until after the 30 day return window was over since I was confident in their fit and performance after using the same shoes for years. I had to throw them away because of the smell. Plus, I needed them to keep my feet dry and they clearly won't work for that. I reached out to New Balance directly since that appears to be who is selling them on Amazon, but they gave zero customer support other than a 20% off coupon for my next purchase from their website, which I can find through Google.
