Medicare For Dummies: 9781394267965: Medicine & Health Science Books @ desertcart.com Review: A must read for people turning 65 - I bought this book about 5 months before my Medicare would start. I knew a little dealing with my mother’s health but had no idea how confusing it was to get started. This book is very detailed and thorough. It broke things down into easily understood sections. It doesn’t tell you what to choose, just what happens based on your choices. My siblings both have Medicare Advantage but it’s not the best choice for me. Neither is better or worse, there are many things to consider. I still don’t understand why Part D must be so convoluted, you choose a plan and pray. Review: Essential Reading for Anyone Eligible for Medicare - This is an excellent resource for those new to Medicare. I started with this book, then attended a Medicare 101 seminar conducted by the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). What I learned from the book made the seminar clear and easy to understand. I feel confident in the decisions I need to make in a couple of months, being informed by sources not trying to sell me something. I will continue to use this book as a resource as I join and navigate the Medicare system.

Great information in an easy to read format; Good examples; Advice on gathering further info.
I like this book. It provides an excellent writeup on what to expect when it's time to take the Medicare plunge. The information is organized well and is in a format that makes it easy to understand, with example scenarios. I also found it explained the different products available and where to get more information when you are ready to look for your own situation. I give this book a high recommendation as it has helped me prepare for signing upper Medicare in 2025.

a lifesaver for me to navigate the transition to Medicare & other retirement coverages
Medicare For Dummies: I'm SO glad that I'd read this in the year before I turned 65. This helped me ignore the copious paper mail, online ads & relentless telemarketers, that likely valued profit ahead of my best interests. Due to being on Social Security since age 62, enrollment/activation for Medicare A&B at 65 was automatic. The SSA notified ME by mail! The Dummies book let me know what else was separately needed: Plan G (Med Supp), dental, prescription, vision. I appreciated the thorough explanation about Medicare Advantage which I did NOT elect, instead choosing Plan G. / To my friends who are about to turn 65, I recommend THIS BOOK, and the AARP site before even LOOKING at all the other ads.
