Solidly built
I got this for peace of mind when the grandkids are here. I added 4 felt pads (usually used for chair bottoms) on the bottom, plus two on the top corners. It sits on top of my chest-of-drawers rather than in a drawer. The two pads on the top keep the lid from banging against the wall when it's open. A paperback book behind it keeps it just the right distance from the wall. Very impressed with the design and construction, and the lock is just perfect. As one who has spent the past 25+ years in software and computer tech, I knew that I wanted a mechanical lock, and the Simplex lock is perfect for the job. Very fast. Very secure. Very simple. Made in America Quality!

Perfect drawer gun safe
I initially bought the smaller 279-S-BLK safe (7.25"D x 9.5"W x 2"H), and while it fit my P365 and three mags neatly, it was so shallow that I couldn't close and lock it. It seemed more suited to a passport and jewelry than a firearm. But this unit increases the height by 3/4", which is the perfect height for handgun storage. It's very sturdy and I LOVE the lock. No batteries to replace and die when you need it the most. Plus, you can use button combinations, like pressing 1 and 2 together . This greatly increases the possible code combinations and allows for simple opening, without having to enter long codes. I'll be ordering a second one to place next to the first one, as my dresser drawer is 24.25" wide. Great product!

Great purchase!
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Electronics can fail, and most of the imported lockboxes I’ve looked at are subpar. Is it more expensive that the imports? Maybe, but it’s worth it. Excellent fit and finish. Heavy duty. Proven lock that won’t fail. American made. That’s what I wanted. It holds my edc pistol, knife, extra mag, and has room to spare. Great purchase!

Simple, reliable, quality made in USA
The V-line top drawer tactical safe is the great way to protect your valuebles from unwanted visitor or kids.Very sturdy and exceptionally crafted by American labor. Packaging is top notch. Amazing finish and precisly assembled. The lock is simple and will never fail you due to battery lacking power, this lock is purely mechanical. Easy to set a new combination and very quick access. As a suggestion, would be nice to have the door spring loaded for easier access with one hand operation. Buy with confidence and support American company.

Very well made box
I think my title says it all. It's a quality product - well made, in the USA, and at a reasonable price. Yes, one could get an imported thing for less money, but will it have a quality simplex lock, well finished edges, well packed and packaged, etc? Dubious.I hope the company reads these, so I'll start with feedback - there is a tiny sticker on the shipping box that says that it is a CA compliant firearm storage or something like that. I don't want anyone knowing that I have anything firearm related in my home. That little sticker could let an onlooker see and build a concept. UPS/Amazon leaves boxes on doorsteps quite often. Also, there is the 10ga brute, and boxes like this. I would like to see a "standard" box that is 12ga, maybe even 10ga on some key areas. The steel on this box is well finished, well bent/connected, and sturdy. The typical thief has minimal tools, maybe a few screwdrivers. But they could have a crowbar or something. Something in between might be useful to some folks - I would think? And that's the end of what I could consider feedback of what needs improvement/my suggestions. The box is very well packed, in a sturdy shipping box, with an easy means of pulling it out (cardboard handle integrated), tightly wrapped in plastic. Well done. No real chance of it getting beat up in shipment.Easy instructions inc, used for setting the lock. Simplex locks are supposed to be intuitive, but I had never used one before. Good document indicating how, what and where for use and setting.Well thought out bolt holes. Two are square - seemingly to allow a carriage bolt to be employed. Smart, IMO - you may, you may not...Minimal foam. Not sure how I feel about foam. Some say it can rust steel items and holds moisture. There's not a lot in here. Could be swapped for something else. Also includes some VCI to keep the items inside protected.I like that the metal top goes way down the sides. I'd think that would make it harder to get in with certain tools like screwdrivers, stronger if someone tried to beat on it, though perhaps easier with a prying tool or crowbar. Not sure. Still, it gives a double layer of metal in the sides and my impression is that it's stronger as a result.Overall, this is a great security container. This may be a primary level of security, or could be part of a layered defense. Either way, the quality, construction, lock, design, etc are all excellent. I'll definitely consider their products if I desire another such product in the future.

Great, sturdy gun case. This mod makes it even better.
The media could not be loaded. I bought this case because I wanted something sturdy and reliable for my nightstand. I found that the heavy top was a little awkward, and, because my nightstand drawer doesn't extend very far, the lid would not open far enough to support itself. It still functioned okay, but it was a two-handed job to retrieve the handgun. So, I added a 7.5 inch, 10 pound gas strut, attached it with blind pop rivets, and now it opens much more easily and stays up. Note, with this configuration, it doesn't pop open on its own - I didn't want that because there are frequently times when I keep the box closed without the lock engaged - a distinct advantage of this case versus others. If you wish to have it pop open on it's own, you could just install a stronger strut, say in the 18-20 pound range, or, better, put a small assist spring over the strut rod.

Excellent, NON-Battery Operated Safe
This product is great. I have had a bed-side safe that was battery operated for several years and found on more than one occasion that the batteries had died. I finally purchased this product after debating on whether the price tag was worth it and I can say, without a doubt, it is worth it. Now I have a bedside safe (capable of fitting two firearms the size of a G19 and two spare magazines) that will be reliably accessible.
