The stone I received is about 2000/4000 grit comparing the texture and scratch pattern to king stones. That's higher than I expected for $14 even if it's not 3000/8000 grit. The downside is there's not much use using 2000 grit between 1000 grit and 4000 grit.The abrasive material is surprisingly hard enough to work on tool steel and the stone wears fast enough to keep the surface cutting.The base is nice enough I'll keep it to use with other stonesOverall this is a good cheap spare stone if you know what you're getting into. It's the exact same thing as the 50 other listings for a stone that looks the same, so go find the cheapest one. Just make sure it's fulfilled by amazon, so you have someone responsive to yell at if the stone shows up broken or moldy.

Came in in good condition just missing the guide

Nice long stones w/ quality stable base for even larger knives. 3000/8000 combination puts a sharp edge on any dulled knife, but be sure to use a honing blade as well. Guide could be helpful for beginners, but a hindrance on some shapes. An absolute steal @ $15.

I purchased the Whetstone and what an amazing product this is. The 2 different grits were fantastic for blades that were really dull and blades that just needed a fine tuning. I am so thrilled about my purchase!

Unacceptable! We got this product and it was covered in mold!!!!!!!!!! Not even a little bit of mold....it was fully covered! Don’t ever buy this!!!
