A rats worst nightmare
I purchased these traps after seeing a very big rat in the garden that made run for the shed. I was shocked to see it nevermind that it was in my garden. Our dogs were going mad constantly sniffing and watching the shed. I purchased some poison from the local garden centre which was quickly eaten. I thought this had cured my rat problem boy was I mistaken a few days passed and I saw the rat again this time in the apple tree. Enough was enough I had my wife panicking in case they got into the house so I purchased the traps. These traps are a good size with plenty of snap so when they go off the killed the rats humanly. I baited the taps with chocolate spread which is really easy to do and finger friendly. One quick clip and the traps were set. Day one nothing caught, Day two 2 dead rats day three another dead rat day four and another dead rat. Traps can be reused over and over again. Really impressed with how deadly these are. Importantly they don’t cause the furry critters to suffers as much as don’t like them I wouldn’t want any creature to suffer a painful death.

Easy to set, easy to bait, mercifully quick on the rat.
I admit I didn’t read the product review properly and expected one big trap. As it happens there were 6 medium sized traps. I needed a trap to catch a rat that was happily ignoring a bait box and the size looked fine. It didn’t ignore this and the trap did the trick. It seemed very quick on account the trap only moved maybe an inch from it’s original resting place (it saddens me to kill an animal, so I was thankful it was quick). It was very easy to place and set and I baited it with peanut butter. There’s a kind of plastic attachment that holds the bait which is screwed out from underneath meaning your not at risk of losing your fingers if it goes off - a clever idea I thought.Given that I had six traps, I disposed of the rat and the trap together. In conclusion: Easy to set, very easy to bait and does what it’s supposed to do, quickly and cleanly.

Mice yes, rats not sure
I definitely have a mice infestation around my garden shed, and these traps are making mincemeat of the little critters. I have four of these and one Victor set at the moment, all in a line along a fence. The most I’ve caught in one night is three, firmly mashed in the jaws. These traps are much better than the Rentokill traps of more traditional design that I’m also using, as they offer protection to the bait from rain (currently incessant). The jaws style protection along with a stickier bait (Snickers bar instead of peanut butter) will last a few nights of rain rather than washing away in an hour. My two reservations are that I very much doubt that the jaws are strong enough to catch a rat (I think I have an elusive one), and that the traps sometimes don’t kill as cleanly as a traditional trap. Often I find mice that have only been caught by skin or a leg or two, trapped inside the jaws, which must have been a horrific death. I’ve had one faulty trap in the batch of six that wouldn’t set from new, and another that is difficult to set. Still my mousetrap of choice though. MUST be put out of reach from pets and wildlife as they would seriously harm.Edit: I’ve now caught a small rat! The trap wasn’t even baited.

Disappointed and upset
Well it caught the rat but didn’t give it a swift death. It was horrendous, it’s head was stuck in the trap and it was alive and screaming, I hate rats but I wouldn’t wish any animal to suffer. I was hoping it would kill it fast without any suffering but this trap isn’t strong enough to kill a rat quickly, I wouldn’t buy it again.

Absolutely phenomenal
While sipping my coffee I was looking out in the garden, that's when I spotted this uninvited visitor running around without a care in the world. I tried in the past with rat poison but these vermin are just addicted to it and actually they seem to enjoy its flavor. I decided then to go old school and try these rat traps: I placed a bit of peanut butter in the tray and fitted the traps inside a section of an old pipe so that they wouldn't get wet from the rain or attract birds/my dog. After a few days as you can see I got a result and actually already caught 2 already. I would highly recommend this item

effective with a little modification
I've had no luck with these traps at all. I find them either sprung but not rodent caught, or sometimes the bait has been taken without the trap activating.I'm at my wits end with these wretched creatures gnawing away inside the walls, keeping me awake at night.Update:I modified the traps by adding a small screw to the bait well so that the nuts could not be simply taken and in the last two days I've caught one mouse (or juvenile rat) and one adult rat. So clearly the traps work under certain circumstances, I've maybe just got particularly savvy rats.Another update: I often find the bait taken and the trap not sprung which I had been thinking meant that I had sneaky ninja rats but continued observation has shown that the bait is being taken by big slugs.Yet another update!the traps have been outside for some months now and I haven't rebaited them for a while and the bait has once again been taken by slugs. However this morning I found that three of them had been sprung and two of them held dead rodents. So it seems worth having them around even if I'm not being that attentive to them.

VERY GOOD PRODUCT
Easy to use and re-use! Rats are always a problem at the end of my garden as we keep Ducks & they go for the food!Put these out within the first 2 days I had rat (using chocolate) then baited with cheese on all 6 of them and squished two more. Then re-loaded with the duck food and got 2 more overnight!Great product as can be easily re-used and you do not have to touch the dead rat to dispose of it (just release it from the grip).I would say it kills instantly from the power of it and the condition of the rat when caught!

Strong snap but quality not so good
These are very strong snap traps with a powerful snap shut mechanism. The main problem with them is the durability of the traps. Only after a few weeks of the traps left outside 3 of the traps have stopped working - it is no longer possible to set them open as the catch wont hold. This is such a shame that they have only lasted a few weeks - hardly enough time for them to catch rats
