When i got this pen I was excited because it was my first fountain pen, i got it out of the bag and i unscrewed the pen to reveal the inside and put in a ink cartridge. When I first started writing it worked fine, the ink was getting distributed fine and was perfect, i picked it up to write with again but ink would not come out. I thought that it maybe got clogged with ink so i dipped the tip in water and ink came out, i put the pen back together and i started to write with it but absolutely no ink came out. I tried the proses multiple times of dipping the tip in water and putting the pen back together and it just would not produce Ink, so I am going to buy the LAMY Safari fountain pen that has been recommended for beginners for over 40 years so marol of the story is: the lower the price, the lower the quality.

The size is good for a large hand. The weight is also good for the same reason. I wanted to find out what a cheap fountain pen could do and I have my answer. I filled it and tried everything. The ink simply would not, on its own, wick to the top of the nib. Even when I did the 'prompt' shake, it would start to write and then the ink would pull back into the nib. On inspection it seems that the gap that allows the ink to flow was too wide for capillary action. I considered trying to replace the nib but alas, it is a cheap pen, not worth the trouble, and I am satisfied with the answer. It's a cheap pen that performs poorly. Lesson learned.

Hard to assemble to the point it was not worth the effort to try to assemble the unit.
