highly recommended
I bought these insulated boots as a gift for my son. His work sometimes requires that he be out in cold, rainy, muddy weather. He wore them last week in exactly that kind of weather. At the end of the day, he said his feet were warm and dry all day. That's a very good recommendation.

Comfortable boots
I got these because my previous rain boots had gotten a couple cracks where the thin rubber flexed the most and were no longer waterproof.I've never had neoprene boots before, there's some differences:My pants are able to go in the top of the boot a lot easier. My other boots had a narrower top and weren't stretchy at all, so it was a hassle to get thick pants like jeans in.While I haven't gotten them soaking wet yet, the neoprene will take a lot longer to dry than the rubber which could just be wiped off.The tread on these is a lot more aggressive and better for mud.The rubber part is thicker and seems much more durable.I'm in California where I pretty much only need rainboots in the winter, and one of the problems with my old ones was that they were quite cold. In fact they seemed to suck the heat away from my feet. These though, have the neoprene lining all the way down. This of course makes them bulkier, but they're much warmer. Not too warm though, like wool or fleece lined winter boots. But I wouldn't want to wear these someplace hot and humid and wet.The fit seems true to size, maybe a bit large to accommodate thick socks. The only problem I had with the fit was that the heel seems big and sloppy. They're fairly heavy. I no longer have my old boots to compare, but they seem quite a bit heavier than they were.

Great for the guy who frequently gets into messy and muddy spaces
My husband is a supervisor for a large building company and goes from job site to job site. He often is assigned to the new job sites, where building is just starting - meaning no concrete or parking lots in place yet - just a foundation for the building and gravel, if they're lucky, for walking paths.Otherwise, it's dirt and (after a rain, which happens frequently up here in the upper midwest) mud. Lots of mud.He has plenty of work boots, and a pair or two in his truck. But when he gets to an office or has to go to a store to deal with a material order, or comes home - those boots are covered in mud, often dried and clumpy.DO NOT GET ME STARTED ... on how frustrating it is to vacuum, sweep and mop your floors - only to have your husband walk in the door and drop perfectly formed waffle clumps of hard clay-dirt in a steady trail to your mud room. Even in the mudroom, those clumps really wreck havoc on any vacuum that isn't a shop vac.So, now he has these. He keeps them in his truck and wears them when needed. He likes that he can just pull them on or off, easily and quickly. He also likes that he can hose them off when needed - especially if the mud/clay mixture also has wildlife droppings mixed in it. It drove our dog NUTS smelling that poo.He did say that they are muck boots, not insulated for really cold weather. He's fine with that because he wears thick wool socks in winter anyway and said these are fine with the addition of the insulated wool socks. That brings me to sizing. He does wear the thick wool socks and these are true to size. We got his regular size boot size, and everything fit fine. He has average width feet and said these fit fine - not too loose and not too snug.He likes the traction and said the tread does sometimes require a bit of time to dig out clumped in mud if he really visited a really muddy site.He said the curve of the sole is comfortable and the insole is sufficient. He did add his own deodorizing insert with memory foam, because ... work boots and stink. He's had them a month now and has been able to test them in rain, mud, icy slushy muddy snow mix, and in drying mud. He said they are good work boots and he would probably even consider them for hunting if not for the fact they do have a bit of a chemical smell upon opening. The smell faded once exposed to fresh air for a few days in the garage, but he feels it's likely the smell is still there, just enough, to alert those nose-sensitive woodland critters. But, after a year or so of regular use, he may give them a try in the woods, he said. Depending on how stinking they get over the summer, lol.

waterproof boots
These were too big for my son, so I am not sure if they run large or not. They appear to be well-made, just a bit big.

Surprisingly high quality
These are ment for rain but picked up to wart off snow! To use for around shoveling and as a good rain boot. They "Looked* narrow and small but when put on with a thick sock, I was pleasantly surprised. Roomy. Although I've been wearing size 14 and these are 13 seem they embrace true sizing as my foot is really a 13 to 13.5.Easy on and offNice neoprene high topGood support built in as a surpriseThese are of high qualityInsulatedTrue to size with maybe 1/2 size giveNormally I wear a size 14 in sneakers and dress 13 to 14 depending on manufacturer. These were a 13 and roomy. So order accordinglyBottom line I did not know what to expect for the size or at price point but these are high quality, well made and fit me with room at size 13. I can highly recommend these for mud boot, rain boot, or for around the home or farm. Thes would not be for Snow hiking as an example. The size is only thing to consider when purchasing as a boot these are slightly larger.
