I looked forward everyday to reading this book about my Lord and what He endured for me. Thank you Charles Martin for following God's leadership in the words describing the greatest moment in history.

The story of the cross told by a person like me, with emotions like me, and with the convictions like me. I have read roughly 20 of his previous books and as novels, they are good, but as the truth, they are enriching.

Absolutely a fantastic book to get back to the cross of Jesus and the reason why we need to. Enjoying every page.

This is absolutely one of the most phenomenal books I have ever read! It is gut wrenching honest and spoke to my heart. I love the humility and simplicity. It is a powerful read and one that I will read again. Having all of the scriptural references at your fingertips is a wonderful bonus. I simply love this book. Words can’t justify the effect this book can have. I read it from cover to cover and my soul feels both the sorrow and joy Charles describes.

What a wonderful way to prepare for Easter! Charles Martin has a unique and delightful way of delivering truth. I have read many of his fiction books but this was my first non-fiction. He humbled me, made me cry, and took me to the Cross, helping me to see Easter in a fresh light. I love his writing and loved this Lenten devotional.

This book is beautifully written and will draw you into the beauty and salvation of the cross and our wonderful Savior Jesus.

I went through this book with my small Bible Study Group. We found it to be a great reminder and sparked great conversation for us. Encourage you to read it during Easter or immediately after.

A must read and excellent reminder of our savior and his calling for each one of us - to follow and live in him.
