Q: Any ideas for attaching this lock to a bike frame— preferably out of the way on the back stays?

Really depends on the bike frame geometry, all different.

Q: What mount do you use? the recommended transfit flexframe-u bracket can't attach if you use the wheel extender that comes with this lock.

Hi There. Currently, we don't have a bracket for the Kryptonite Messenger Mini+. We do not recommend the Transit FlexFrame bracket since it has the wheel extender.

Q: Will the extender fit through my helmet's 1 inch hole or are the curved ends too wide?

Yes! It should but you may have to adjust the holes on the helmet depending on the type of helmet.

Q: will it works with 20x4 inches fat tire of ebike?

I just measured the inside dimensions of the opening on mine and it is only 3 1/2 inches wide, as is the extension piece, so doubt it would fit over a 4 inch tire. I hope this helps
