Develops impenetrable clog after only a few months of use. Bad heater design.
I go through one of these units about every 2 months. I clean it and use the unclog pipe after every use. But it still manages to clog up so hard you cannot unclog it. The problem seems to be that the heating element is too far from the tip. Allowing solder to cool along the tube and it becomes impossible to unclog. When it works it works well, but they have too short of a lifespan.

Cheaply made
The de-soldering part of the gun never worked. We paid for the extended warranty which was a nightmare trying to get Assurion to honor - which they never did. I had to purchase just the de-soldering part again ($50) and it broke the first time I used it. Would not recommend!
