I put this lock on my bicycle handlebar and use it to secure my helmet when I lock the bike up to go into a store, coffeeshop etc. for relatively short time. It may not fit some thicker handle bars, but it could be attached to some other part.Thing is, it won't really stop a determined crook, especially since the lock itself is attached to the bike with just a couple of hex screws. Also, the person could snip the helmet strap and take off. So especially if you have a really nice helmet, I would not rely on this for leaving it with the bike parked for hours at a rail station, for instance. This little helmet lock is a nice accessory for my bike. It is small and easy to attach to the handlebars. Simply set your 3 code numbers following the directions on the amazon page (paper directions not included in the box), then attach to the handlebars with the two included screws and allen wrench. There is a rubber strip that you wrap around first so you don't scratch your handlebars, which also makes for a tight and secure fit. The helmet strap can be hung through the lock for security, and there is another non-locking hook on the bottom for when you are at home or somewhere where there is no worry of theft. Well thought out and versatile design. Good value too.
