GeeekPi ABS Case for my Raspberry Pi 5 Review
I recently purchased the GeeekPi ABS Case for my Raspberry Pi 5, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my choice! This case combines durability and functionality in a sleek design that perfectly fits the Raspberry Pi 5, accommodating all models from 2GB to 8GB. An excellent robust case with heatsink & fan
Ideal for my Pi 5. It comes with double sided sticky pads that sit on top of the ICs, some nylon screws to fix the heatsink & fan to the Pi board, some metal screws to fasten the Pi board to the case and even a small screwdriver. There seem to be 2 sets of pads, I guess in case you make a mistake, and also 2 spare nylon screws. Assembly is easy, though there are instructions. The fan plugs into the "fan" socket on the Raspberry Pi and is controlled by the Pi. It generally only comes on briefly when you power up the Pi and once the Pi sensor gets above 60 degrees, which I find it only does if the Pi is running a lot of programs or calcs.

I selected this case to house a Raspberry Pi 5 running sustained workloads where thermal stability matters more than appearance. In practical use, the Armor Lite V5 active cooler performs as intended, keeping CPU temperatures under control during extended compilations and media tasks, with PWM fan control integrating cleanly with the operating system. Noise levels remain low and largely unobtrusive, which is consistent with broader user feedback. Port access is well considered, and the tool-free, multi-part ABS enclosure makes routine access straightforward once assembled. The case itself is lightweight and reasonably rigid for ABS, offering adequate protection for desk or shelf deployments. However, durability is not uniform. A minority of users report loose top panels or missing fasteners, and tolerances can feel less precise than premium enclosures. Assembly is simple but slightly fiddly, particularly around the SD card and thermal pad placement. Within its price bracket, the cooling performance is the clear strength, while the enclosure quality reflects cost-saving choices. For users prioritising effective active cooling over structural heft, it remains a sensible and functional option.

Amazing value
Very happy so far. Decent case, thermal pads, considerable heatsink, and a quiet fan. Amazing value and checks all the boxes for now.

Careful with installation
I do really like this case and the cooling does actually help, and it fits really well HOWEVER don't forget to remove the SD card from the Pi before installing. Otherwise a fantastic case, there is even a removable front cover for access to the GPIO slots.

It's a "just OK" Pi 5 case
This is my second GeeekPi case. I previously purchased one for a Pi 3B+ and other than being a little fiddly to install around the Pi, it's a great product. With that in mind I got a another case for a Pi 5 I wanted to start using for a project. This case is way more complicated to install and the included instructions are really poor and difficult to interpret due to how small the paper insert is. The first thing you have to do is match the heat sink adhesive pads to components on the board. There are at least 3 different sizes and thicknesses to these pads. I think I got the right ones on the right chips but who knows. You the have to use the plastic screws to fix the fan unit to the board and the adhesive pads. It's all very fiddly again and you need the manual dexterity of a 9 year old to get it right. Once that's done the rest is easy but I'm left wondering whether I fitted the pads to the chips correctly. They should have made it clearer by printing the size and thickness on each pad and my mind would have been at ease. Once it's all screwed together in the case it feels robust and well put together. Maybe because of the adhesive pads rather than metal the case feels cheap. Or maybe that's how you're supposed to glue those chips to a heatsink? I don't know. In hindsight I should have got the transparent case but when I ordered this that was not an option.

Cooler looks good and doesn't block the wifi too much. unfortunately it's quite bulky and was too big for my application

Este Kit trae la funda, almohadillas térmicas, tornillos de fijación y un ventilador silencioso con disipador térmico. Además de un pequeño manual de instalación. Esta funda está fabricada con material de ABS rígido, notablemente más resistente y duradero que el PVC. El ABS ofrece una mayor resistencia al impacto, lo que lo convierte en la elección ideal para productos sometidos a un uso intensivo, como nuestra Raspberry Pi 5. La funda se puede separar en tres piezas: una inferior, la del medio y la cubierta superior. Trae un sistema de ganchos para montar y desmontar la funda mediante presión, lo que la hace facil de manipular sin herramientas. Además, la funda es de diseño de cortes abiertos, lo que permite la ventilación a través de sus ranuras. Sin embargo, con el tiempo, estas ranuras permiten la entrada de polvo a la RaspBerry Pi 5. Como se puede ver en las fotografías adjuntas, se puede acceder fácilmente a los puertos USB, Ethernet (RJ-45) y conectores Micro-HDMI. Aunque esta funda permite extraer fácilmente la cubierta superior con solo presionar, dando un acceso rápido al interior de la Raspberry Pi 5, la incapacidad de sacar los cables planos del conector GPIO podría ser una limitación para proyectos que requieran el uso de módulos HAT.
