Chichester FSC Eucalyptus Wood Outdoor 2 Seater Bench

Sturdy and good looking.

Good points.... large wooden sections feel solid and are attractive, very easy to build, took 15 minutes. Comfortable, plenty of room for two. Comes ready oiled, so wont need maintenance (oiling) until the end of this summer or the start of the next. I bought a plastic cover for this one after a previous bench failed to survive the wet winter outside.Minor niggles.... one arm had a slight split but the action of attaching it to the main body pushed the split together so hopefully that wont be a problem. The other arm had a slight dent, which doesn't show from the front. One of the fixings was malformed, meaning that you couldn't get the Alum key in. Fortunately I was able to improvise and still use the fixing, but it made construction a little less straightforward.The niggles mean its a 4 rather than a 5, but I'm very pleased and think the bench represents good value.

This bench was easy to put together and packaged extremely well. Each piece was wrapped carefully in its own protection which gave me confidence in the quality of the product. The screws and fittings were of high quality and there were no sharp unfinished edges. Unfortunately, one of the horizontal slats from the seat area of the bench snapped after one month and will now require gluing back to replace it. Hence this bench has proved itself not to be the strongest of outdoor seating options. However, this may have been a one off and based upon the good points, as highlighted above, I would recommend this item.

Ordered this for a small garden and it is perfect for two normal sized adults to sit together (ideally with suitable cushions).The construction requires two people (ideally) and a few minutes to work out which screws fit where (there are three types). The instructions are hard to read so a bit of thought is required. But it goes together easily and - most importantly - ends up feeling nice and solid. Very pleased and good value.It would have been 5 stars but the packaging in the box is non-existent so unfortunately one arm was dented in transit - something we didn't notice until the box was opened. So if you can examine the contents for damage before signing for the delivery then this is advisable.

I am very happy with the bench. It is simple to assemble and all the M7 bolts and screws fit well and are galvanised so should last well. The wood is nice and sturdy too and is a nice red shade hopefully the photos show this.My only criticism would be that a small piece of wood flaked off the bottom of the arm rest on my bench when I took it out of the pack. It doesn't affect the look and hasn't left a rough edge so I was happy to accept it.I would highly recomendations this bench.

This item is absolutely brilliant to say nothing of the next day delivery.I found it a bit frustrating that ScanCom should recommend using a Hardwood sealer and then not be able to supply the item they recommend albeit their own product so I took the matter up fairly vigorously with Amazon.True to form Amazon were ultra helpful and they were able to assure me that an alternative product that I had meanwhile researched myself was in fact the very same one that ScanCom have stopped supplying (it appears). This is called 'Royal Craft Hardwood Sealer' and is the very same product in the same tin but with a different label being supplied by "Heritage Gardens"This is the item name tag.Mir Rh-3 Hardwood Sealer Oil 1LtrStill five stars for the furniture!

A very good quality hard wood product which is an ideal colour match to my wife's new summerhouse. We already had a seat cushion from a collapsible caravan which fits the seat perfectly - a comfortable addition. The instruction sheet was quite informative and a plastic bag held all the necessary screws and bolts which was a great aid to assembly. On the subject of assembly, it was quite easy to put together, but a useful tip to any future handyman is fit all the screws and bolts finger-tight first, otherwise some of the pre-drilled holes could be slightly out of line. Altogether the seat is a great asset to any garden, summer house etc. at a very competitive price, and is British made, I believe.Highly recommended.

These are great benches. They are made from beautiful wood and are very sturdy. They arrived really well packaged and the courier left them in my front garden as requested by the note on my door.The assembly instructions do say 2 people but I did manage to put them together by myself. However, it wasn't easy because of the weight of the wood and would have been extremely easy with 2 people. It took me over an hour to put the first one together and probably half an hour for the second.I have only managed to get one out of four screws secured properly for the back rest but this doesn't cause any problems.An electric screwdriver is a must.Excellent value for money and I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.
