Hello, Thank you for your question about our clothing rack. Yes, you can remove the middle section to divide the closet into 2 separate sections.

Q: Is it possible to make the mid section wider or add drawers?

I bought two and connected them minus one side of the hanging rack I have separated. The holes are drilled in a way that you can mix how you have them arranged. I hope that makes sense! I can update with a picture tomorrow

Q: Are these modular? (i.e., can the order of the sections be changed and/or can multiple units be attached together to span a larger wall?

Hello, Thank you for your inquiry about our bamboo closet system. Closet units do not support modification and reorganization. It can be placed side by side to span larger walls, but can not be attached together, thanks.
