This replaces the same one that was 18 years old and had gone a little blunt. The grater is super sharp and easily grates old citrus fruit which can be difficult to grate. The zest is collected underneath and the shield covers the grater in the drawer so no cut fingers. Fabulous item and well worth the money.

This is so practical, easy to use, easy to clean. Use it for garlic, ginger, cheese. The plastic shield collects 99% of the gratings so no mess and dead easy to transfer to the pan or plate. Far better than garlic press, ordinary grater or knife. I hesitated to buy it but only regret is waiting too long to get one.

Best grater that we have ever had in over half a century.

Not cheap, for what is after all just a grater, but wow, what a grater. It really is supremely sharp, not like anything else you'll find, I've used these type of graters before and I've always been very happy with them,it's just that mine broke and therein lays the only slight problem with them and that is as it's quite difficult to clean and I always find myself banging it on the side of the sink to remove the remnants. The problem is that it's manufactured in such a way that only a small part of the metal grater is embedded in the plastic handle, so although for occasional use, it's fine, any more robust use and it just falls apart. I'd still recommend it though!

Wowsers - this was better than I expected - and my hopes were high! I've zested oranges and lemons, grated garlic, ginger and parmesan and it does it with absolute ease and is perfectly accurate. No pith, just zest. Parmesan grating is a joy - with no pressure applied it grates the parmesan in a fine rain-like drizzle.The good thing about the blades only facing one direction is that it can be cleaned easily. The guard acts as a catch for whatever you are grating when you turn it around and it is accurately made and so catches everything.Can't think how this could be improved.Update - 6 years later this still looks and works as well as the day I bought it - whenever I use it, which is regularly, I appreciate how superb it is.

This grater is of superb quality and design. It comes with a protective cover too, so when you place it in a drawer with other cooking utensils it won't get damaged.It's an interesting design as you can run your hand/fingers up the grater surface and there are no sharp edges but press a vegetable or cheese on it and it cuts away easily. I am really pleased with the cutting performance and shape of the cut/grated items, perfect. The silicon anti-slip (colour coded by grating size) point is a bonus as it stops the grater sliding around. Without doubt one the best cooking utensils I've purchased in a long time. Plus it has a 25-year guarantee, so can't ask for better than that!
