Problematic DAB and FM reception
Having been in the Landscape industry for over 40 years, I`m used to a variety of ear defenders branded and unbranded. I use machinery often and always use ear protection. I have also had radio ear defenders and up until recently had another brand of radio ear defenders that had FM/DAB+/Bluetooth combo.Out of the box they look great, and setup was relatively straight forward, providing you follow the enclosed instructions. However, I have found both the DAB and FM problematic in acquiring a decent signal and playing any of the pre-set stations. It took several attempts on DAB to get all of the available stations, and on FM hardly any despite settings being set to take only the stronger signals only. It doesn't seem to matter whether I am in a rural setting or in town, I experience constant freezes whilst it tries to search for a signal. Several factory resets and new scanning has had mixed results in performance in finding stations for both DAB and FM.Unfortunately trying to contact ProHear through their website requesting advice has resulted in a failed delivery! Would not recommend.

Very effective
I live in an area with good reception for both DAB and FM, so I had no issues in picking up a range of stations. Controls are reasonably straightforward to use and the impact of machnery noise is considerably reduced. Some, more expensive, DAB ear defencders come without a screen and are almost impossible to use. The PROHEAR 033A is easy to set up and easy to use.

Great casual ear protectors for basic audio use but not comfortable for glasses-wearers
As most reviews point out, these ear protectors "do the job" - they offer good audio quality for what you'd expect but don't expect audiophile levels! The volume level is fine - you wouldn't expect any ear defender to allow the user to blast their ear drums with dangerous levels (!) - but the units lack any bass. For listening to some radio or music off your phone while trimming the hedge or mowing the lawn, it's all good. The one issue I have is with the cushions - they are basic (same as your basic, cheap ear defenders), plastic and do not have enough soft cushioning in them to comfortably bridge the arms of glasses (for those that wear them). After 20 minutes or so of use, it becomes very uncomfortable on the ears. If you're not a glasses wearer, I don't think you'll have any issue, unless you've got ears like Dobby.

Dab radio did not work!
I bought this to listen to DAB radio whilst doing my grass cutting etc.I tried to set up DAB but the display read service not available. I have other devices at my location that receive DAB ok.I then tried FM and it worked but the sound quality was terrible.I returned it!
