Direct replacement for my old one that lasted 8 years

Easy to connect. Works flawless.
This invertor works flawlessly. It's so fast in transfers that you really don't notice it happened. Not like my old one. I'm so happy with it that I know I'd do it again given the choice.

Great investment
This are a great investment. I put it in our boat. We have instant ac transition. The tv doesn't even blink when you go from shore power to battery power. The 150 amp charger charges our lithium battery bank right up.

True workhouse.
Our cabin is completely off grid. We survive on a 1600 kW solar system with a large battery pack that is hooked to a propane generator when the sky is grey and winter days are short. This inverter is the heart of the system. Mine has been in operation for 7 years without a hitch. I have a back up in the barn. I highly recommend it.

NO Customer Service
Absolutely (0) None customer support. I received the product with no issues and installed it without difficulty - this is my third inverter/charger. The first died of old age. The second lasted six years before it got wet and killed the controller boards. This one should have been a drop-in no-brainer. The problem began when it would not recognize a 'Validated' power source - meaning 110v shore power. Yeh, tell me what that means? The documentation was as clear as MUD and there was absolutely NO trouble shooting instructions other than to "factory reset". This meant it ran in inverter mood, which work perfectly, but I could not charge my batteries. Yes I tested the power all along the path, and at connection points to the inverter I got ~120v ground to hot and hot to neutral and 0v neutral to ground. So I thought, let me call customer support in inquire about what the hell a 'valid' power source is. Fourteen (14) calls over 4 days later I never spoke to a single person. I left call-back a number as instructed and waited for a call-back. NOPE. At one point I was third in the queue at 09:00 and never got a call back. I thought I would out-smart the system and call the Sales department, they will always answer...I was first in the queue but had to leave a call-back number after holding for ~45 minutes. Never got a call-back!I'm sure the product is great and my problem was something simple but not covered in the installation and troubleshooting guide, but...I don't care how good the product is, without customer service it is worthless. Oh, not to mention the almost $700 restocking charge. This was very expensive lesson. I have wasted many days, and dollars, with this product and can't recommend it to anyone for any reason. Before I purchased my second choice inverter/charger from AIMS Power I called their support line and got a technician on the second ring. He is probably still laughing after I told him why I was calling.PS. I did receive a call-back at 21:00 two days after I had shipped the product back.

As Described
Installed in my 2024 Alliance 5th Wheel, was a chore but works exactly as described, need to get on the road and use it to see what it can power.

Quiet, Seamless - but needs battery disconnect.
Purchased this Xantrex 815-2012 along with a new controller to replace an old RS-2000. I really like this new inverter - it is quiet and appears to run seamlessly. Two important points:1. I discovered with my old RS-2000 that when these units fail, they can fail in the OPEN condition. The way my trailer is wired, if the inverter fails, everything on the A leg of my AC panel goes dead. To avoid this in the future, I wired the input and output AC wires to/from the inverter into a separate J-box next to the inverter. If a future failure occurs, I can simply open the J-box and connect the AC around the inverter, isolating it from the AC side of the system.2. The new 815-2012 does not "hibernate" like my old RS-2000. This unit will "standby", but remains on line when connected to the batteries. The manufacturer states it draws very little power when in standby - but I'd like to completely kill the unit during storage. In order to fully shut off this unit, I had to install a battery disconnect switch between the battery bank and the inverter - something I should have anyway. Be aware that for long term storage, you need to either disconnect the battery leads or have a disconnect switch.None-the-less, I'd give this unit 4 stars for smooth and seamless operation. I would recommend purchase to a friend. Nice product overall.
