Only one that lasts, so well worth the price
Over the last 14 years that I've been feeding birds, I've consistently found that Droll Yankee products outlast all the others by literally years. This window feeder is no exception. I use them to feed live mealworms, and no matter how often I let either tumble from my first floor window to the ground, so far, these robustly made feeders do not break. Only problem is that in really high winds they can blow off, but are far less likely to do so than any of the other feeders I used to use because of the design of the lower sucker. I also like that the top overlaps the tray, so the contents stay drier unless driving rain (I do sometimes have to put some tape underneath the drain holes if the mealworms are minis to stop them making escape bids).TIP: Ensure your window is really clean before attaching the suckers and soften them slightly in a kettle of warmed water, then you'll find the suckers stay attached for ages.

This is the one you want. Stop shopping around.
This is the best window feeder available. There is no need to try any other types. I have done that already for you! (Please let my time and frustration in trying other feeders pay off for you!)This one is easy to fill, easy to clean, easy to hang. The feeder itself is separate from the suction cups, so you can slide the feeder off, dump out the old seed shells, and then slide it back on to refill it. (Or you can just pour in a new tray full of seeds on top of the old shells.) This is an easy task for my 7-year-old. The tray type seed holder is also good for mealworms or any other type of food you would like to put out.You can adjust the height to keep larger birds out or to let them in. Many other feeders are not large enough for jays and cardinals. Some feeders aren't even big enough for chickadees! We have seen titmice, chickadees, cardinals, cedar waxwings, sparrows, and occasionally a blue jay at this feeder. They come all day long and have gotten used to us being inside; we can observe the birds quite closely. Since it is on the window, the feeder is safe from squirrels and cats. The seeds stay dry. The suction is strong enough for high winds. The plastic is thick, stays clear, and is strong enough to handle being dropped by above-mentioned 7-year-old.This is overall a high quality item that is well designed. There is no need to continue shopping and guessing which will be best. This is it.UPDATE: Since buying this for my own family, I have since bought 3 more as gifts.

excellent company and product!
I have had many bird feeders, but until this one they were all the type that you hang from a tree. I try to feed birds/squirrels near various windows as entertainment for my indoor cats. They love watching all the critters and "hunting" them through the windows and I enjoy watching them all. Here in TX the heat and sun wear out plastic feeders pretty quickly so I've never had one last a year without something breaking. This one was very sturdy, but after 7 months of the squirrels knocking it onto the stone below, a piece on the bottom finally cracked. The Droll Yankee packaging claims a lifetime warranty, but I've seen that with other companies and found it was much more challenging to get the replacement than it was worth. Not this time!! I called them and all they asked was what model I had, what part was broken and what my shipping address was. They didn't ask for my receipt or even when/where I bought it. A week later the replacement was in the mail and my feeder was back in the window...no hassle at all, which is a really rare thing these days!I was concerned that the suction cups wouldn't hold and I'd be picking the feeder up off the ground multiple times a day, but even with big squirrels leaping on it from the fence, it would only fall maybe once a week or so, which I thought was great. If you don't want squirrels to get to this feeder, simply make sure there's no fence or anything they can easily leap to the feeder from and be sure it's not close to the screen or they will climb the screen (I have to get a new screen because of this) and then climb to the feeder from the screen. It took a week or so for the birds to find the feeder, but once they did all was well. I have a cat tree right in front of that window so the cats can literally touch the window right where the feeder is. Some of the birds take off, but most of them just ignore the cats as they paw at the window, which is more fun for all of us. The cats enjoy those who fly away too though as I think it makes them feel like they successfully hunted a bird. :)My favorite thing about this feeder is that you can adjust the distance between the top cover and the bottom tray. I like to keep it big enough so the squirrels and bigger birds can get in, but you can shrink that distance to only let smaller birds in.My least favorite thing about this is that the suction cups have to be placed on the window separate from the feeder so it's sometimes hard to get them placed the correct vertical/horizontal distance apart. Also, when the feeder does fall, sometimes you have to hunt for a suction cup since they aren't attached. Not a big deal, but another feeder from this company has the cups attached to the feeder, which solves this -[[ASIN:B00004ZB4J Droll Yankees OWF Observer Window Bird Feeder]I highly recommend this feeder and really, any feeder from this company!

Birds love it but it failed to stay up
I have two of these - the first one is wonderful. The second one I got failed soon after I put it up. The screw holding the metal rod that connects the top and bottom stripped and would not stay tight. Thus the bottom of the feeder keeps falling off. I tried taping the rod in place but that doesn't hold for very long. I'm disappointed. Maybe this one is just a lemon, as the first one I have is going strong.
