Beautiful, dependable cookbook full of creative, delicious baked goodies
This cookbook is gorgeous (as you might expect based on the magazine & BfS vol 1). There’s a beautifully styled photo of every finished dish and the typeface is easy to read. Every recipe seems to be printed on a single page, so the cookbook is practically easy to use. It’s critical to point out that all the content in this book is “reprinted”-it was already published in the Bake from Scratch magazine issues of 2017. Some of the recipes in this book are available online on the eponymous website. You’re buying this cookbook because you want a hard copy of the recipes.First, the few cons:Some recipes call for rather expensive ingredients and/or specific equipment/pans that a lot of home bakers are unlikely to have. (How many ring molds of different sizes can I manage to fit in my kitchen? Answer: 1 size is the limit.) A few seem like they were not scaled down sufficiently for the home baker (12.5 cups of flour is not a quantity I’ll ever put into a single recipe, much less try to mix together in a single bowl).Aside from this minor quibbles, this book is more than worth the cost and a place on your bookshelf. Unlike so many cookbooks that are published, these recipes have been truly tested, are concisely written but don’t make any logical leaps that will confuse newer bakers, and span a wide range of flavors/baked goods as well as time requirements.This book has recipes for the pickiest eaters as well as the most adventurous and the newest bakers to the very advanced. One of the things I really appreciate about Bake from Scratch is the content isn’t just a repeat of “common” baked goods. There’s a “twist” or an intriguing history to each recipe. Also, because the book comes from a magazine publication, the recipes are quite seasonally themed (although they are organized by baked good category).I’m not likely to make every single recipe in here, but there are so many to choose from, and everything I’ve made so far has been excellent, including the date & hazelnut caramel cake, the stuffed flourless PB cookies, peanut butter Nutella coffee cake, tahini-cardamom shortbreads, chewy chocolate chip cookies, and the Italian cream bundt cake.

I fell in love with the magazine from the first issue. So it should not be a surprise to know I love love this book. Great recipes. I am not an expert , even I can understand the instructions and have great results.

Excellent! Having tried several recipes from the first book, I was eagerly waiting for this one. I made the Birthday Cake Scones, and they were truly awesome. I had never met a scone that I truly liked, until the Bake from Scratch cookbooks came out. Now, they may be my most favorite dessert. On my list to try soon is the Orange Blossom Vanilla Brown Sugar Pie, the Chocolate Rugelach, and the Chai Spice Caramel Pie with a Salty Honey Meringue.Each recipe is accompanied by a picture, and although many do require a special ingredient, that is exactly what makes this book special. It is not your average everyday recipes. There are recipes for strudel, (Nutella and Marshmallow), and sandwich cookies, such as Mexican Chocolate with Dulche De Leche filling, Churro Smores and much more. For the bread recipes, there are Cheesy Scallion Pull-Apart Rolls, Sweet Potato Biscuits, and Chestnut, Cranberry, and Rosemary laminated Pain D'Epi. In the cake section, there are recipes for Banana Cake with Brown Sugar Hazelnut Buttercream, 10 Layer Spiced Russian Honey Cake, and a Ginger Cake with Mango curd and Key Lime Buttercream.If you love to bake, like I do, you will appreciate having this cookbook to go to. Instructions are clear, and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. There are around 400 pages in this book, so certainly there should be something for everyone.

Very pleased!
Just received this book, it's a the kind of book that everyone wishes to read and look at when it comes to recipes. I only gave it 4 stars because I have not baked anything from it yet! Full of pictures though which I love about this book . I liked it so well that I thought about ordering book one as well the others up until I read the reviews on book one. Guess I won't be ordering that one for sure. Will consider the others if the reviews are good because this book two I am very pleased with it so far.

Absurdly Good
I am not currently subscribed to Bake From Scratch the magazine, but I suppose I should be because I am a HUGE fan of their two cookbooks. Volume One was such a hit in my house that it wasn't too long before I sought out Volume Two. It's incredibly similar in terms of scope and quality to Volume One. I have baked literally dozens of treats from the two volumes and so far I haven't found a single dud. Everything has been very easy to follow, and relatively foolproof. I'm not a complete novice when it comes to baking, but I feel like a total beginner would absolutely be able to bake anything from this book.

Easy to follow original recipes.
This cookbook is beautiful. We have made several recipes. Easy to follow and gorgeous illustrations. This book contains original recipes that we have never made. Most items you have on hand. I hate buying a spice I will use once. This is now displayed in our kitchen.

Just buy every book in this wonderful series! You will not regret it!
I started with volume 2, which quickly led me to purchase, volume 4, then immediately volumes 1&3, & I’m hoping to get volume 5 for Christmas.All of these books are filled with beautifully photographed images & countless inspiring recipes. My kids even look through them & try some of the recipes. The entire Bake From Scratch series definitely falls into the food porn category & at least one of them can always be found open on my kitchen table at all times. Worth every penny! Don’t hesitate, just buy them all. You will not regret it.

Después de probar el primer volumen, supe que era obligado comprar el segundo. La calidad del libro es muy alta, el papel, las fotos, babeas cuando lo abres.Difícil encontrar un recetario exacto, y este lo es. Aunque en lo personal, siempre ajusto el porcentaje de azúcar de la receta a 1/2 de lo que diga el libro, pues me parece una exageración sobretodo porque el gusto de mi familia es comer cosas no empalagosas.Sin embargo, les advierto algo: al comprar esta belleza adquieres el compromiso de comprar toda una gama de moldes, utensilios e ingredientes, porque simplemente sin ellos tu resultado no será igual que el de la foto, no importa cuanto lo intentes, créanme. Pero al conseguirlos se vuelve todo un placer probar una y otra receta.Finalmente, las imágenes pueden engañarte, pues piensas que las porciones del pastel, por ejemplo, son grandes basado en las fotos. Pero en realidad, para obtener resultados espectaculares ten en mente moldes de entre 15 y maximo 20 cm de diámetro.En fin, mi colección más preciada, espero con ansias el volumen 3.

I received my book yesterday and instantly fell in love with it . It has everything one wishes in a cookbook. The quality of the pictures, the size of the print and the variety of the recipes are amazing ...Cant wait to try recipes from it .

El segundo libro que compro de esta serie, sigue con la misma calidad de edición y de recetas, y es interesante cómo se ven las distintas ediciones de la revista materializadas en recetas con una inspiración en específico.
