Good for the price, be sure to push screen down on the bracket
Good quality, time and date will reset every time you shut your car off. Will re-sync upon connection. Haven’t installed backup camera yet, might not, but the quality on it is good for the price I paid for it, bracket is durable, easy to use. Wouldn’t recommend using the sticky mount if you live in an area with high heat. To mount it you have to press firmly down on the screen and bracket

Bricked Unit After Update Attempt
I bought this Capapro 7" Portable CarPlay screen a short time ago because of the good initial reviews and the claim of "reliable technical support." I followed the built-in online upgrade process exactly as instructed and used the official IVT244.img file provided by the device's own QR code. After the update completed, the screen is now completely unusable: it shows only a solid blue background with a thick horizontal line and visible scan lines. The backlight works, but there is no menu, no touch response, and no way to access CarPlay or settings. I tried: Extended power drains and resets (unplugged for 30+ minutes multiple times) USB recovery attempts with the same firmware file Checking for the device's Wi-Fi hotspot (none appears) When I opened the unit to investigate further, the board is an Allwinner F133-B with PCB revision F18_V5.0_20250221 and shield marking JL-M70B013-N22WS-T503518. There is no physical reset button! They removed it, as though it's a cost saving measure! I have been unable to contact the seller for the correct matching recovery firmware. There is no "Contact Seller" button visible on the product page or my order, and no direct support email or phone is provided despite the product description promising reliable technical support. This unit is now a $43 paperweight after following official instructions. I would like the seller to provide the proper variant-specific firmware or arrange a replacement. Photos of the failed screen and motherboard are available if needed. If you're considering this unit, be aware that the firmware update process can brick it and support appears very limited.

A Game-Changer for My 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300
I recently purchased this wireless portable CarPlay car stereo for my 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Easy Installation & Seamless Connectivity Right out of the box, the setup was straightforward. Connecting it to my car was effortless, and within minutes, I had wireless CarPlay running smoothly. The interface is responsive, intuitive, and lag-free, making my driving experience much more enjoyable. Backup Camera: The Best Addition! While the stereo installation was a breeze, the backup camera setup took a little longer. Since my Mercedes isn’t the easiest to disassemble, running the wiring inside was a challenge. However, after watching a few YouTube videos, I figured it out. The effort was absolutely worth it! Once connected to the reverse light, the backup camera worked flawlessly. I’ve wanted this feature for so long, and at one point, I even considered selling my car just because it lacked a backup camera. This single device has saved me thousands of dollars, allowing me to keep my beloved car while upgrading its functionality. Final Verdict If you own an older model car without CarPlay or a backup camera, this is a must-have upgrade. It’s an affordable solution that brings modern features to your car without expensive modifications. Highly recommend it!

Very good quality device.
This is quite a handy device for older vehicles that do not have the lastest in audio equipment in their vehicles. I have a 2007 Tahoe with a single DIN audio system which works fine, but now having the options of phone mirroring you have far more choices at hand. The option of two different mounting devices is a plus, and the ease of mounting and setup is beyond easy. As others have stated there is a bit of lag time on some things but that is to be expected. I have to use the aux cable in order to play through the car speakers but the sound is clear and unhindered so far. Haven't had the option of trying the navigation as I already an aftermarket Garmin navigation system installed and I love that one so may not use this ones option other than to test it out. so far the unit is functioning as expected and as described, no problems so far. Controls are responsive and clear to understand. The only thing I do not know is the maximum size of the SD card it will support as there is nothing in the user manual about it, may not use but would be nice to know. I have only had it one day but would go so far as to recommend it.

It works great for me
I wanted a dash-attached screen in my car for navigating with my phone apps, and this was a great way to get that. I went to a big box electronics store to get an estimate for installing a carplay-compatible head unit in my vehicle and it would have cost at least $700 or more. So, getting all of these features for about $40+ is a bargain. I've been using it for close to a year and have had no problems. I didn't want to stick an adhesive mount to my dash so I purchased a DVD-slot mount separately and this unit mounts directly to that using the same 4-prong mount on the back of the unit. by far the biggest challenge was mounting and connecting the rear camera. I had to fashion a small metal plate that attaches to the license plate screws, and I had to strip and tap into a reverse light power to send power to the reverse camera, but now the reverse view turns on when I go into reverse, and I love having that too. I have a pickup and the tailgate limited my rear camera mounting options, but if you have a car you'll have more mounting options and probably easier access to accessing power and routing your wire to the head unit. But, if you don't care about installing the rear camera, you can have this thing mounted to your dash and ready to use in just a few minutes. I have the unit powered with the accessory power plug that came with it and I used twist ties to organize the power cable, the 3.5mm aux output and the rear camera cable as best I could. If you are a stickler for not having a bunch of wires hanging on your dash you might invest some effort into cable organizing.

Good for cheap backup camera but not impressed otherwise...
I bought this primarily because the backup camera on my daughter's old junker car went out. This seemed to be the cheapest option to replace it. Pros: It was easy to install the main unit. Just plug it in and turn it on. And the backup camera works reasonably well. For that alone, I am happy that I purchased this. I also keep it on a GPS map any time I'm not in reverse, which is handy. Cons-1: Installation of the backup camera was fairly time consuming. Even with having the necessary tools and know-how to install it, it still took me close to an hour -- and that wasn't tucking all the wires in and making it super neat. You do need to have some a basic non-contact voltage meter, or some other testing probe to determine what is the proper wire going to your reverse lights is. Then you have to be comfortable with actually tapping into that wire to power the backup camera. Definitely not a quick and easy installation if you aren't comfortable working with wiring and don't have some way to test the wires. Cons-2: As far as the main unit, while getting it to connect to your Android phone with Bluetooth is fairly straight forward, getting it to fully mirror your phone is a pain. You have to download an app on your phone and then set up a mobile hotspot on your phone. My anti-virus was popping up all sorts of warning messages about how dangerous this was. I finally decided I didn't need full mirroring for what I needed the unit for. Also, you can't have your VPN connected on your phone, or the Bluetooth will not connect, and you will get an error code on your phone. I do like the backup camera. It works reasonably well and does the job. I doubt you are going to find a much cheaper option. But don't expect this to be like a high-end unit for any other purpose.

Love it! Change my old car completely (2 in 1)
I love it! I definitely recommend this one. This changed the way I ride my 2004 Highlander. 1. I have a reverse camera now so I can easily park my car. 2. I also have more or less a navigation system where I can see the map and I can hear the directions. It doesn't drain the car battery (I connected it to a bluetooth/transmission device that I am not using as a Bluetooth). 3. Using the car stereo system to listen to music on my phone and call others. I can simply say: Hey Google please call "x". Without touching my phone or the touch screen itself. Drawbacks are few and not bothering me really and are because of my very old car model only: 1. It will not switch to camera view simply by putting the car gear on Reverse like camer-buit system. It requires touching the screen few times to switch between the reverse camera view & between the Android Auto/Carplay navigation system. 2. I don't have AUX on my old car so I use it on the radio transmission option (use the lowest FM channel possible for less statistics.) If have a similar situation, expect to have some statistic/noise once in a while. For me it works for long roadtrips with little static and I can enjoy my podcasts for long uninterrupted hours on the highway. Overall, it is an Excellent system. I've used it for few months now without a glitch. It stayed on my dash despite me moving the screen around so many time (and I wasn't gentle). The mount didn't break or get loose at all. If you are looking for a good one, I recommend this.

affordable carplay for your older vehicle - you get what you pay for
This is an affordable option for equipping your older model car with Carplay or Android Auto. I have an iPhone and I had zero issues setting this up and pairing it to my phone and my car. I was not able to make the FM radio connection work but I think I just needed to find a better channel to tune. I don't intend to use that connection method anyway so I didn't work at it very long. The bluetooth/WiFi connection worked smoothly. There were zero issues in setting it up, and it seems to have a sensitive touchscreen without any particular lag that I could see. There are several options for displaying information. I have not yet decided on how to mount it (windshield or dash). Other reviews complain about the adhesive not being very good, but I have not tried it yet. Thinking about using an alternative mechanical mount that doesn't require adhesive, but I have not locked that in yet. Overall, for the price I have no problems - it works as advertised and I expect to use it well. It comes with a backup camera, which I don't need but which I may try to adapt as a dashcam - not sure that will actually work. A 3.5mm aux cable is supplied for an alternative audio connection, but I could not get it to work. It powers through a connection to what used to be a cigarette lighter but which is normally just a power plug now. One thing that was irksome was that the power cable is not detachable from the plug. I have a plug with two USB ports and I plan to use one to power the unit and the other to power the phone charger. But I will just have to supply an alternate cable with USB-A on one end and USB-C on the other. Otherwise I have no complaints, and I think for the price this is an easy and affordable way get Carplay or Android Auto into your older vehicle. NOTE: as others have pointed out the mounting system they supply with the product is an absolute disaster. The adhesive is weak. In particular, the dash mount hardware requires an absolutely flat surface on which to mount. Few dashes are actually flat and any curvature of the mounting surface will prevent the base from mounting well to the dash. I am searching for an alternative way to mount the unit.
