Bad Readings
Does not give good reading on smaller items

This works with only a small area to test.
This works with just any surface that has a 1" x 1" square for testing the desired hardness. The surface needs to be cleaned, but this seems more accurate when the surface is smooth and flat.

Works as expected at a great price
This turned out to be a surprisingly good deal. Price is super competitive and the accuracy (when used as directed) is spot-on. Everything is included here and I was up and running within a couple minutes of opening the box and cracking the manual. The included manual is in clear English, everything is clearly labeled, and I've not had any problems so far in limited testing.Sometimes Chinese shop tools are a roll of the dice but in this situation, everything worked out great.

May Not be What you Expect - Its a LEEB Tester
I suspect its not for what most people want or need. This is a LEEB method tester. Read about LEEB testing advantages and especially disadvantages on the internet. IMPORTANT: It is to be used on smooth steel at least 1 inch thick! Thinner steel can be tested if the piece is "coupled" to a thick, solid block of steel with "coupling paste" (if you can find it - not the ultrasonic fluid) properly applied and the sample properly prepared to the base with the paste. High pressure grease may work somewhat. Otherwise your test results will be greatly inaccurate. There are other significant limitations as well to be read about. Likely wont work for blade makers. Designed for production tests of thick metals. And its not non-destructive: the impingement pin leaves tiny dimple impressions in the metal on every test marring any fine finish even on very hardened steel.
