Compatible with all modern operating systems I need
Upgrading a small home lab to 2.5 gb networking needed some flexibility for laptops to connect at full speed. This worked without issue with Windows 10, Proxmox 8, Ubuntu 24, Debian 12, and other 'live CDs' that I had on hand.Having both the USB A & C is really useful. The adapter ran cool even before I noticed the plastic wrap was still on it and limiting air flow.Speeds match the other (budget) NICs that I have in the home lab.

Works as described at the speed described.
Tested with a 2.5G hub and a pair of these work as described at the speed described. The inclusion of a USB-C to A adapter was a nice touch too.

Works but…
So I ordered this USB Ethernet adapter to troubleshoot an issue with the built in networking adapter.Good things:- Realtek adapter was quickly downloaded from the WAVlink website (though you’ll probably want to download the latest one from Realtek’s website)- When it is working normally, it achieves my maximum speed on my EE FTTP connection of 500mbps on Speedtest. Would be interesting to see whether it can reach close to the 2.5Gigs stated.- works pretty well with my Lenovo laptop, but not so well with my custom PC- nice, well presented packaging- I paid around £23 which is a good priceBad things:- not sure if there is an issue with ASUS motherboards and Realtek drivers - but similar to the built in one this would experience dropoutsI’ve ordered a different (non-Realtek) and will be testing it once it arrives and writing a review on that one.
