This little seam guide works quite well on my older machine. The magnet holds on tightly to my metal machine bed, keeping seams and hems straight.It may take a slight adjustment to fit your machine but I have not had any issues with it.

Great idea however my cheap $200+ Brother sewing machine from Costco is mostly plastic so having a magnetic guide didn't really work as designed... SO no fault with the device but know that a magnet requires metal...

I wasn’t sure if a magnetic seam guide would make much of a difference, but now I can’t sew without it. It stays in place really well and helps keep my seams straight, which is a game-changer, especially for longer pieces. Super easy to adjust and works great on my machine (a Brother, for reference). If you’re tired of eyeballing seam allowances and want something simple that actually works, this is it. Definitely recommend.

Has a very strong magnet! It doesn’t slide around at all and sticks REALLY WELL! Easy to use and you place it where you want and it stays. Functions well as it works great for select, denim and even leather. So it does do great for varying thickness of fabrics. Great for beginners, advanced sewers or quilters alike.
